omgosh this is the first time i've done anything with physics and this is SO MUCH FUN! I do have a question tho if you're able to answer, I'm making a tail that's sticking up instead of hanging down; is it possible to give the tip of it a little flick back and forth as it sways or is that to complex for this? I wanted a bit of a more flowy/curvy tail swaying but I'm quite new at learning so I'm not sure what's possible or what's more complicated to rig. But thank you so much for this tut!
@CutieDragon
2 жыл бұрын
That's absolutely possible! This model I demo'ed here actually has a toggle to make the tail stick up and there is a little bit of sway It'll be a bit of experimentation to see what works with the specific tail though, sometimes I'll set up an extra warp deformer for the very end part (when using this skinning method) and use another parameter to add that extra little flick this tutorial will definitely get you started though, so glad it was helpful for you! There's a LOT you can do in Live2D, but make sure to take it one step at a time & continue having fun rigging!

Hi just a quick question! I followed your tutorial Fully and it works as it should in the editor preview. In the preview I can see that my tails are swaying as they should but in the vtuber studio they barely sway at all and just move side to side without the extra sway, is there a way I can fix this?
@CutieDragon
2 жыл бұрын
Oo that's an interesting issue, hm, it might be worth turning up the physics in VtubeStudio for the tail parameters - there's a button in the param settings that should allow you to tweak it!

Double check you have [export physics settings] enabled when you export for runtime! Which tracker are you using too? I know there's sometimes some bugs with physics in prprlive

Hello again! I’m just curious if you have any idea how one would be able to toggle the tails to be either up or down?
@CutieDragon
2 жыл бұрын
Hello! I'm actually planning on making an updated tutorial with a few extra bits lik the up/down toggle soon! But for this method the best way to do it would be like this: -Setup a new toggle parameter for the up/down with the values at 0 minimum, 1 maximum (0 as default) -Create a new rotation deformer ABOVE the skinning rotation for the base of the tail (or basically the parent of the tail skinning deformers) -Set the new deformer on the new toggle parameter and rotate so at value 1 the tail is in an upward position -Setup the toggle as an expression in Vtubestudio (or Live2D viewer if intending to use in other trackers)

So I clicked the first skinning option after setting up the rotators and it's been... about 10 minutes. Still skinning. Can't force quit the program. help

@CutieDragon

Ah that's a common bug I've run into a few times, I'd recommend saving after you create the rotators then performing the skinning, if it bugs out restart the program and try it again, unfortunately that's the only fix I know at the moment

I followed the tutorial correctly but for some reason when I export the model it gave my model three tails, anyway to fix this?
@CutieDragon
2 жыл бұрын
Ohh that's a new one, hmm, check your parts menu and make sure any part that isn't on the skinning is hidden - usually the base part of the tail, also double check your texture atlas to check if its duplicated on there for any reason And one other thing to check would be - open the file in the live2d viewer (it installs with live2d) and check if the tails are on there

A lot of my videos can be used to learn in the free version! There's just some limitations with the free version that will limit the scope of the model - I usually recommend focusing on upper body models when using the free version!

The only ones that aren't super good for the free version are the ones that include the use of blendshapes! As they are limited to 3 blendshape parameters in the free version - it's much more limited! But you can still use up to 3! @@doomsday_isnear_
