I was born in '52 and the Beatles were phenomenal! No one had seen or heard anything like it! Then the young French kids mobbed them at Paris airport---then you just knew the Beatles were more than special! Well done Charlie! Greetings from the LOS!

I also grew up in the 80's (some 70's) but am not delusional enough to think Oasis are better, bigger, faster, stronger than the Beatles. Liam sings the same thing in the same tone for every song and Noel has one guitar solo that he messes around with. Oasis 1st album and that's it that one was good. The one bad thing about the Beatles is that they influenced Oasis lol.

I'm an Oasis generation never got into the Beatles until I was older but the Beatles were the first to ever do it and are better musicians even if I like Oasis style in music better and rate Noel a lot that is just a fact and I prefer Oasis and love Liam but without the Beatles, you wouldn't have Oasis and many other bands like them.

The Beatles changed and in some cases invented different musical genre and styles. Oasis just did one establish style reasonably well. I saw Oasis at Glastonbury and they shuffled on stage, droned a few tunes and shuffled off. Compare that to the Sheah Stadium gig the Beatles did.

My daughter did 3 years at John Moores University and she absolutely loved Liverpool ❤ We visited numerous times and loved the city. Nightlife is great and loved the live music

Young man selling Walker's crisps was funny. Now that's Scouse entrepreneurianism for ya. Love Liverpool. Bobbed back to visit St. John's market and the precinct two years ago and it's gone sadly downhill. Tiny market, poor shops selling schmatter and just general tat and crap in stores full of nothing. I guess city centres are ever changing entities. 😅 Bold street is still quirky and exciting though.

what you call the 1970s radio tower was actually built as a restaurant in the late 60s, it closed down in the 70s and was left empty for many years before becoming the home of radio city

2:04 I wish that, coming into Liverpool Lime St from Manchester Victoria, there was better access to the ferries to Ireland rather than via Holyhead - and no, I don’t want to go flying from Liverpool or Manchester to Dublin either - I wish I could join a cruise ship and head across the Irish Sea to Dublin from the old port in the city centre as a foot passenger despite the 8 hour crossing time, rather than the 3 hours via Holyhead, as the train journey with its changing trains enroute is so tiring

Charlie you are probably unaware that Liverpool Central was at one time a mainline terminus above the current underground station. There was also another terminus at Exchange station, both now gone leaving Lime Street as the only mainline terminus in Liverpool.

Fun fact: The twin-tailed 'Mermaid' is a Melusine. One of the mythological differences that differentiate her from Mermaids is that she appeared in Fresh water... even flying from wells! Melusine is also a popular girls name here in France! Or put it this way, I live in a village with five houses and I have met three of them, but then I do have a well in the garden!!! 🤫
