Liverpool - birth place of The Beatles, and our eighth UK city in our series.
We were in the area for a wedding and wanted to make the most out of the weekend so we packed up our bags and rented out a room in an Airbnb (with a very friendly cat called Gerard) and spent our time exploring this vibrant city.
Starting the evening off with a trip to Quirky Quarter where illusions come to life and 'Honey I Shrunk The Kids' becomes a reality. This was a fun activity even with two of us and the staff were very eager to lend a helping hand taking photographs. We then had a feast of delicious Pan-Asian food and cocktails before heading back to Gerard, who slept on our bed all night (don't tell our cat at home!)
In the morning we headed down to the Festival Gardens and the River Mersey. It's a beautiful area to spend some quality outdoor time, especially if the sun is out! The afternoon and evening were spent at a gorgeous wedding at The Palm House in Sefton Park - a stunning venue.
The next day was all about exploring the city, finding beautiful buildings and experiencing the music quarter - Cavern Quarter and Matthew Street were buzzing when we were there! Another highlight was Albert Docks which is a lovely area in the day time and pretty cool at night too.
Liverpool was a really cool city to visit with something for everyone!
