In Manchester, 20 year olds Georgia and Storm had a rocky start as Georgia played to her emo strengths and used to hate him. Although when she finally agreed to go on a date the relationship blossomed and now 2 years down the line and this kooky couple are living in love. A year ago Georgia moved in with Storms parents and is now living the all play no work, fantasy life of an anime princess. She spends all her time online buying the latest Japanese street fashion then blogging about it, leaving no time for common things like housework or a job. Unfortunately for Storm all the financial and domestic burdens are left to him, working two jobs as an amateur photographer and utility salesman on top of doing both his and Georgia’s share of the housework, all so Georgia can stay in the lifestyle she’s so accustomed.
Even though Georgia gets on well with Storm’s parents and treated like part of the family, Storm is eager to move out so they can have their own space where he can relax after a hard day’s work without getting ordered around by his mum. Georgia on the other hand has grown quite fond of her life with Storm’s family and is reluctant to leave the comforts of her princess lifestyle, especially with the topic of jobs ever on the horizon. But she knows they can’t stay with Storm’s parents forever so this couple finally decide to try moving out and making it alone.
So for one week Georgia and Storm have to finally try growing up and leaving the nest. Given the same amount of money they would have if they really did move out, the couple need to find a flat as well as budget for bills, food and a dinner party for their parents. After all this they get to decide whether to move out permanently or return back to old comforts of home.
Will this week alone be the catalyst to help them stand on their own feet? Or will the stresses and pressures of the real world bring out the unspoken tensions this couple has had brewing for a very long time? Find out on this week’s episode of the Hotel of Mum & Dad.
