Exactly. I have lived on less than $500 a month here in America for decades so I don't know why these people have to spend so much money over there. And I want for nothing. But I also love to cook at home, and I spend.less than $100 a month on food and I need to lose weight! Over there I will spend probably $50 a month on food, and $100 a month rent (they are out there all over) when all is said and done. I will probably be around $300-$350 a month there. Some people just have too much money and try and find ways to waste it.

@@jackbaldwin3649 I understand. I am just a musician that got close to making it big, but never did. I don't have a pension, etc like most of you. I have rich friends that have always lived high on the hog, but I just always traveled. I finally decided I should buy some land, so I did, just a cheap acre. And decided solar would be better than an electric bill, and it is. Most Americans don't do that. I grew up in Alaska living off the land, etc. So the transition to the Philippines won't be as hard for me. I am happy with little here in New Mexico, and will have more there. I have had many things in my life, but the only thing that ever seemed to really matter was happiness. And it took me far too long to realize, that happiness is the only thing we cannot buy. Because it's not for sale. It's a completely different thing, and level. And one that we must each find for ourselves.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the only people you subsidize are the US politicians who take the campaign contributions from the pharmaceutical companies to put the screws to you. I don’t know where you heard that we subsidize the rest of the world. The fact is they get their cheaper prices because in most of those countries health care is national and is bought in volume by there governments. There have been proposals in the states (Sen Sanders) to make this happen but the pharmaceutical companies and those being greased by them are keeping those plans from moving forward. Just putting the blame where it belongs.

Probably the electricity is cheaper in negros? I had air con too and once I paid almost 100$ a month but I had to turn it off often during the day. I was in Cebu province. Anyway as you know it's possible and very nice to live in the Philippines for not so much money at all. I also spent a total of 1200$ a month everything included and that includes for my Filipino wife and we have a kid together. I also spent 560$ all included(food and drinks too) in the past but it was not comfortable at all.

Go Vol's haha. My wife and I leave in 3 weeks. We have seen so many of your travels. I have a question, and perhaps a video idea. We leave in 3 weeks to SE Asia for 90 days. Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand. Are there any vaccines you have seen are a must. We are making sure our tetanus is current. Anything else?

I never turned on my aircon in my apartments in Chiang Mai and Siem Reap. Only used fans and cross circulation between windows. Within three weeks….I’m acclimated to the tropical climate. My neighbours were shocked at how low my electric bills were. Miss south east Asia so much. I’m 71 now, and had a quadruple bypass. Hoping to come back soon to the tropics and finish out my life there. Namo Buddhaya…..🙏🏼 ☸️ 🌴 🌴 🌴 ✈️

I'm just guessing and I've been to Philippines and watched hundreds of videos but just a guess so many expats in dumagutte the prices may be higher although it sounds cheap. I stayed mostly in a province called dalagute.
