Anthony maybe it's just me but I think you are sort of a superhero. In one week you left the campsite, went to check on your mom, kept your word and meet up with the FOAS, and then kept your word to Lamont to enjoy a friendcation with him and help him move back to FL. You do more things in a week than most people do in months and when you got to the timeshare you were still full of energy. I'm amazed 👏. Stay safe and blessed because the world needs your presence.

I am happy to see Lamont able to live a normal life after 2 strokes. I had my first stroke when I was 45. My 2nd stroke was at 55. The doctors did a MRI to check the severity of my stroke. The MRI showed my stroke and revealed a brain tumor . The tumor was benign but had to be removed. I caught Covid in the hospital right after my surgery. I am grateful to be alive. I have trouble finding words sometimes and my memory isn't what it used to be. Tell Lamont to keep active and he will be fine. 🙂🙂🙂

I am surprised he didn’t mention social services thru the hospital as there are so many community resources for stroke patients. Please encourage Lamont to research them even though he might not be eligible now but for later down the road since he is so prone to strokes. Is he able to manage his medications etc? He could get help with that too.

Anthony and Lamont, there may be help available to support Lamont in independent living. Services vary by state. Also, Lamont may be eligible for speech therapy. I am a speech-Language Pathologist. Lamont should talk to his primary health care provider about prescribing speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy to help him improve his daily living skills. Strengthening his skills in those areas will increase the probability that Lamont’s independent living will be successful. A concern would be if Lamont is able to independently and safely prepare his meals and remember to take his medication. I think that Lamont would need daily assistance to make independent living successful. I wish the best for you Lamont. 🙏🏽

Hey Anthony and lamont, also my fellow FOA'S! First, thank you so much lamont for sharing your story. You have definitely inspired me. My BP hasbeen up, but I don't want to take my meds. I know better but your story really has put things in perspective as far as how quickly life can change. So just know this interview wasn't in vain. Anthony, great interviewing skills. Your shirt says it all....FAITH 💜 you can live alone lamont and do everything you so choose to do, ..

High BP really is the silent killer, I’m so glad you are going to work it out emotionally. I used to be on over a dozen medications, and my baby brother is on 16 different prescriptions. His high BP caused an aortic aneurysm. So right at the top of his heart, where the aorta attaches, the force of his blood pounding against the wall of is aorta caused it to stretch out like a blister. The tissue is now very thin, and it could rip easily. He also struggles with morbid obesity, which honestly has never really held him back in life, he’s one of those guys that takes very good care of his hygiene, and appearance, so he has always had a romantic partner. Suddenly (to me I live in TX he was in VA) he didn’t look well. We face time about once a week or so, and the last time we did back in October, he just looked “off”. I asked him about it and he said he just didn’t feel good, but couldn’t put his finger on it. He doesn’t drive, but said he’d get a friend to take him to the ER tomorrow if he still felt bad. All evening I was worried about him, and had decided I would be getting him an Uber first thing in the morning. GRATEFULLY a couple of his friends decided to drop by to watch a football game with him, and 15 minutes later they were headed to the hospital with him, even though all he could say was “I just don’t feel good” His BP was 217/135 The way they discovered his aneurysm was they took his BP on both arms and it was widely different, so they thought he had a dissection of his aorta, which is almost always fatal, they did a CT scan and found it wasn’t torn, but this aneurysm is very large. So I went and got him! He is doing much better, he was also diagnosed with diabetes and it was pretty bad. Really he had been deteriorating over a long period of time, but 1) was in denial big time, just thought he was “getting older” which makes sense, but his legs had edema in them so bad that they are now permanently a plum red color. He had blisters on the tops of his feet, and you would think as popular as he is someone would have said something! (They did he blew them off) 2) he had some old voodoo woman telling him a bunch of BS about his health, that he just needed to take Blackseed Oil, and get a colonic… I heard recently that she died in her sleep, her heart stopped. But he trusted her like a mother. When he got out of the hospital he was on oxygen, she told him that he would become immune to it. She told him that insulin would make him need more and more… Anyway, he’s doing so much better here, he lives with us, and he is doing all the right things. He’s also lost about 70 pounds, without dieting. We are not the food police, but I think he is changing his approach to food. I think what has helped him the most is he isn’t partying anymore. Again, he’s a grown man that can live his best life the way he sees fit, so he has alcohol from time to time, but not to excess and not several times a week. Just do your best, do it for yourself, find what works for you, and if you don’t like a doctor or nurse or whomever, find another one that doesn’t talk down to you. We fired one doctor right after we got him set up here, the guy was a jackass. His new doctor is awesome, she brain storms with him about his health and also challenges him when an idea comes up like colonics LOL! Best wishes, I just wanted to encourage you, there’s nothing wrong with taking meds, and usually once your system sorts itself out, you can decrease the amount. I’m down to 2 prescriptions now, but I had to take it very seriously, and make it my only priority for a year, it was a blessing in disguise to be able to do so, as I did it during the lock down/quarantine.

This has been an intriguing interview for most people who have no idea that health issues can occur anytime, anywhere unexpectedly. Thanks for sharing your story Lamont. I hope Florida weather has what works for your asthma and much therapy. A friend of mine lived on the Windward side of the island (East) of Oahu, Hawaii, rain, moisture, the asthma came back so she decided on moving back to Nevada, dry weather. Anthony you are a treasured friend May God Bless and Keep both of you Safe and Healthy...onward bound!! 👋😃
