30 years ago, when China started building massive high ways, mega bridges, mega dams, and then HSR….the world just laughed ,saying that China is too poor, has no money or technology to do it, but when China completed some projects, the world kept laughing, and think that, all the projects will collapsed with in months….and now after most of the mega project have completed, over 45000km HSR are in operational , all function well, no issue, no collapsed bridges or high rises… the world are now surprised : how could China done it??? But some are still crisizing like : “China government is wasting money on building all these super systems, because they will never make money, blah blah… Ha ha ha….yes they are right, Chinese government didn’t build these projects for profits, they built it to serve Chinese people.

Hey Lizzy! Thanks for sharing the true side of China,I’m from China, about Chinese safety, I have a story 5 years ago. one day I exit the subway station, a man with bad intentions suddenly rushed up to me and touched my breast, I kicked him in anger and took a video and posted it on weibo, In the evening, the police found my contact information through Weibo, called to inquire about the incident, and drove to pick me up and took me to the police station to make a statement. Finally, the authenticity of the incident was confirmed through my description and monitoring. After identifying the criminal through the pictures, the police wrote back to me the next day and informed me that they had arrested and detained the criminal, and I did not even call the police on my own initiative. So I think the cameras in China are not to spy on people, but to better protect us. China is really a very safe country! Thanks again for the video!

Thank you for your video. It’s really accurate. I am Taiwanese, and our government often tells us that everything about China is terrible and horrible. If people in Taiwan want to visit China, we are given an orange alert warning, suggesting that it’s better not to go there. However, I went to Shanghai last week, and I didn’t encounter any unfriendly Chinese people when they found out where I was from. It’s truly a wonderful city.
*_Thank you very much , Lizzy to let us know the truth. We have been fooled by BBC for a long time. In summer, I would come to visit China. Merci again !!!_*

I’m just back from 1 month travelling around China and I have to say I was mightily impressed with their infrastructure. Trains, roads, tunnels and bridges all very impressive. Took a number of HST’s and the fastest from Chengdu to Chongqing was moving at 350 kph and very quiet and smooth. Very impressive. Also China is very safe which is probably down to the cctv everywhere. Some people don’t like it but if you’re not doing anything you’re not supposed to, I don’t have a problem with it.

China? perhaps people disappear from the streets and only those of able body and sound minds can afford to live there. Those who don't like NYC can certainly leave. I'm American and lived in Chongqing and Hong Kong for a couple of months. New York's MTA system is one attribute of a much larger cultural problem. The US has the money and resources to have nice things but too often public transit isn't consistently funded as well as it should be. Additionally, maintenance/repairs/upgrades are heavily reliant on contractors, so the costs of doing these are much greater than they would be if agencies did it on their own. Lastly, Americans have a tendency to build and let things fall into disrepair with little maintenance, to the point where it would be cheaper to demolish and rebuild again. I'm happy to see you enjoying yourself, I'm currently in SE Asia but would like to work in China long term!

Some may argue that comparing a brand-new facility to an older one, unfair this unfair that. The actual reality is that Anglo-Saxon media often criticizes China's government, labeling it as dictatorial and inhumane. Yet, can any country point to a facility built primarily for its citizens with such high efficiency? The answer is likely none. I live in Australia, where democracy is touted as giving voice to the people and prioritizing their needs. However, it often serves the interests of a select few, creating an illusion of participation rather than true democracy. And another interesting thing I lately heart, many Americans talk about decentralized systems in blockchain, no against new technology, but the truth is, without a strong centralized system, progress is difficult. Simply voting every day without decisive action leads nowhere.

Having a safe choice is a public tax payers rights. Many companies don't provide parking , average parking cost at least $50/day if you are lucky. And driving depending on the time can take you hours. Yes, many cities in the states have horrible transit system. Some better but not enough. And yes i can say that because i have been to every large city in every state in the USA multiple times. 😊😊 I pay alot of taxes but i'm so glad my government funds trillions of $$ to instigate and help coutries fight wars. NOT !!!!! Thank you for being honest and i can't argue with your facts. Anyone arguing about this just knows they look foolish.

The first time I rode the metro train in Los Angeles, I literally cried out, "Why is this so slow? Slower than Beijing 's number 13 lightrail train? " A boy and girl smiled and said nothing. I could ride my mountain bike and go faster than this thing.

@@artcorner1298 At least you were lucky getting to your destination safely. It's always a thought when you decide to travel on the public transit there.
Thanks Lizzy for the great videos. I am a Singaporean of Chinese descent. I hate videos that show Chinese metro/subway stations simply because I always believe we have the best Metro system in the world, here in Singapore. Just watch KZitem channels on our subway, which we called the MRT system. I hate you, Lizzy for showing Chinese metro; they are ultra-modern and futuristic. I love the ticketless face scanning gantry, we don't have it here. But you are the cutest foreign lady KZitemr in China.
