Samirah, I find you to be so kind, generous and gracious with your words and comments at all times. Surely your own personal adjustment has been beneficial and character-strengthening, yet undoubtedly challenging in some ways. I want you to know I "see" you and commend you on your own personal transformation as a world citizen. It is wonderful how open-minded and appreciative you are of a culture so different from your own. Your perspective on day-to-day living experiences is so engaging because you are equally candid, complimentary and so willing to embrace the differences. I admire that and so many other qualities you display. Your husband, wonderful assistant and children are similarly generous of spirit and heart. As for questions in keeping with this vlog's theme, I am interested in the daily prayer customs, as well as the customary social scenes and acceptable activities for different populations, i.e., children, women, married couples or singles. I would appreciate such explorations in future vlogs if you are so inclined. Overall, I truly am drawn to your channel and I thank you and your family for sharing your experiences with us! Warm greetings from Southern California, USA. 🇺🇸

Thank you Samirah. I’ve been away from my country so long! Thanks for showing the real day to day living in Somaliland. Hargeysa is beautiful but, the roads are my concern too. I just don’t know how the cars and People share the roads without sidewalks ! Back then there weren’t that many traffic on the roads. The mayor should look into creating sidewalks alongside the roads even if it’s only gravel ones . Just space for people . Keep going Samirah👍🏽
@SamirahJees

Yes, this is true then other problem is the mini buses open their doors out to the middle of the road, and women and children are getting out. Having cars that are right-hand drive driving on the right side of the road is dangerous, and I can't believe the amount lives this must cost.

" Rome was not built in one day...but they were laying bricks every hour" nothing great come without hard work and dedication. Us a Somali diasporas need to change our mindset of thinking that someone will come to develop our country and make it the standard we want to live in, instead of us contributing in the development of our country and making it the standard we want. I believe the Somaliland diasporas relocating in Somaliland can change a lot of things, as small as planting one tree.

Samirah you get fresh milk so why not try to make your own Nabulsi cheese. I'm guessing you're familiar with it considering you lived in Dubai. It is used for savoury and sweet Arabic pastries and I believe is a very good mozzarella substitute. KZitem channel Give Cheese a Chance has a good video about it and it looks a lot easier to make than Mozzarella.

Hi Samirah, Nice video. All that you said is so true. Live in Hargeisa is certainly not easy if you are used to western live and standards. I am based in the UK,my children are born here. I took them back to Hargeisa in 2020 for 8 month. We had the same issues. We lived in Hodan Hills and my children went to Elm school there. It was supposed to be the best school in Somaliland but we had nearly everyday incidents where teachers used sticks to punish our children. I was on the phone everyday to the school to complain and several teachers got fired for that. One think which is also hard to live with in Hargeisa,is the no running water and having to call Boyd’s.😂 Live in the west is also getting downhill here,specially when they are pushing LGBT staff on our children in school.We are thinking to come back for few years again soon insha allah.
@SamirahJees
Жыл бұрын
100% agree the problem with school you mention is if the head or management doesn't belive in change then no matter how many teachers are fired it will stay the same. I've been working in education in Dubai and see a large need for a community school to be opened with parent interaction. Im sure there are many diaspora from education backgrounds that we could get together and create what is needed here. Yes the west agenda is messed up in Canada they have Drag Queens doing story time with kids in public libraries.
@muunacadey6890
Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! The management’s fault,because they are not making clear to the teachers their expectation and zero tolerance to corporal punishment and later sacrificing them. Good idea with the community school.👍🏽 When we were there we also met another lovely lady from Australia with mixed children,you remind me of her.❤
