Your comments are useful. I was from april the 1. till April the 4. in Paris, visited castle Versailles too. Maybe I go to Paris after my Hamburg time. Then I have to go to a social meeting house or so….. I like it to break my borders. This will be a Desaster. But Paris wonderful. I would be like it to be in there. Metro is really cool. The places and architectural amazing….. Versailles a place for the gods. And I like art and fashion. I was in Paris after I saw your contributions here on youtube. U are a great inspiration. Thx.

Nice information about the areas...and the differences. The maps and the viids together give a real feel of the neighborhoods. fun. Your eyebrows are beautiful, btw! Can't believe I just noticed! :)

Oh thank you :) I don't do much to them :) People liked the video about the 9th, so I feel like I should show the other places I lived in. Will do one of the 8th at some point, and I guess living in 3 neighbourhoods in 4 years is already something ...

Hello Carola, nice video about the 17th district of Paris, I'm living in Paris since my childhood and the 17th is one of my favorite districts in Paris with the 18th, 19th, 11th, 3rd, 10th, 15th, and the 12th. The district of Ternes, Batignolles and Clichy are my favorite areas due to the presence of nice restaurants, of park-like Batignolles Park, Pereire, nice buildings and that's why I love so much the 17th when I want to walk into areas. The cons by living the 17th is the price of an apartment because it's so expensive (normal we lived in a nice and high arrondissement), the Portes of Paris due of the low attendance and the necessity to take the line 13 of the subway of Paris. The line 13 is the lowest line because it's so boring, too much of attendance, disgusting, and nobody want to take this line. Talking the Portes of Paris like Porte de Clichy, it's normal that we didn't like these areas due to feeling of bad attendance with bad people and it's like a little bit of Harlem when we walk to an Porte.

Great video, Carola! Which arrondissements in Paris would require the RER to travel to heart of Paris?
@carola-lifeinparis

Hi Yanni, here is a plan of the RER lines. www.ratp.fr/plan-de-ligne/img/rer/Plan-RER-et-transiliens.1609949703.png While you can take the RER C to get from Porte de Clichy to the center, you can also use Metro and Bus. When you live in Nation or Charles de Gaule Etoile, you might choose to take the RER to get to Les Halles as it has fewer stops as the Metro. However, I feel within Paris, you are much more likely to choose the Metro or the Bus as there are few RER stops in the center, there is only St Michel or Les Halles, so unless you want to go to these, there is probably a better Metro connection to where you need to go. The RER is much more used to get to the Suburbs or to come from the Suburbs, so if you live in St Germain en Laye or Versailles or Val de Fontenay you will choose the RER to get to Paris and then switch to bus or metro once you are in the center. If you look on the Map, the arrondissements are all in Zone 1 because the arrondissements mean that you live in Paris intra muros, not the Banlieu.

Thank you for video. Can you tell more about avenue de Clichy cuz I go with my doughter in concert ( Blackpink) to Stade de France and will be in Ibis hotel front of park de. Batignolles. How is avenue safe and how you get to Stade de France and back. TY from Slovenia.

So the ibis entry is a bit hidden, look exactly on a map how to get up there. I lived quite close by. And it's not a pretty area but I never had any issues, so don't worry about staying there. To get to the stadium, you need metro 14, then 13. The metro entrance is on the other side of Parc Martin Luther King, either go through or around it. Métro 13 is a bit dodgy and the stadium is not in the best area, protect yourself from pickpockets.

If you want a rich quarter, around opera or around pantheon. But the ibis you chose is not bad and it's in a side street of the avenue so probably not loud. It's pretty safe, just not a chic area but if you want to buy cheap electronics or cheap shoes, Avenue de Clichy is great for that. So you probably won't have issues and the two parcs near the hotel are really lovely. Do not choose anything near Stalingrad or barbes-Rochechouart
