I would love it if you did a video about some of the more rural real estate available. My husband and I would like to buy property now for future retirement. We are looking for something we could park a camper on or build a tiny home on. We would prefer to be within 30 to 45 minutes of Asheville. We live outside of Milwaukee WI now. I fell in love with the Asheville area and the mountains on a visit back in 2005.

Thanks for the videos. It would be great if made a video on retirement communities, particularly in Hendersonville which has many.

Hi Elena! Just wanted to say “hello” from London and thank you for your videos. We’re hoping to move to the US in a couple of years and Asheville is definitely high on our list. Your channel has been so helpful. x

Hi there. Thanks for the great video and information. Do you have an opinion on the Ballantree neighborhood? Ive seen some homes for sale in that neighborhood but I can't find out much information about it. Thanks.

Hi Daniel, thank you for your comment! Ballantree is in south Asheville, off of Sweeten creek rd. It’s a very established neighborhood. Some houses are at the “bottom” and have flatter yards. Some are up on the side of the mountain and can have steep driveways and not a lot of usable yard. Some might have views. Sweeten creek rd is getting ready to be widened into 4 lane rd (much needed). Some houses that are at the entrance might be affected. It’s going to be a real pain when they work on the road project, but at the end it will be better Hope this helps!

Hi Elena. I appreciate all the information you provide. Two things. What are the best communities for retirement especially for active couples (who like to cycle, hike and love music). How does someone best approach the search for a community to settle down in.. obviously not as a tourist. So, how do you best approach the retirement search?

Hi Phyllis! Hendersonville has more retirement communities than Asheville. Brevard and Transylvania county are huge for cyclists. Outdoors in general are really everywhere here. You don’t have to go too far to hop on a trail to go hiking or biking. Hope this helps!

Does everyone in Asheville drive in reverse? Look at the video clips of traffic.

Hi, I’m trying to decide between buying land and building a house, and buying a small house with land. I’m specifically interested in eco friendly homes, like cod homes and earth ships.

Either buy land now and build way later when prices on materials go down, or...try to find something existing. There's no way to build anything for the same price of an existing home. But inventory SUCKS, it's awful

@@livinginashevillenc Thanks, I'd love to see a video on some off grid homes, green homes, or sustainably built with natural materials in the area.
