You're forgetting the rest of the taxes. Sales tax. Carbon tax. Property tax. Vehicle registrations & taxes. Etc etc etc. It's more like 60% of your income gone.

Vehicle registration and taxes can be avoided. Get a company vehicle or where most of the population of alberta lives a bus pass. Sales tax pays for our health care property tax can be avoided by renting and carbon tax is completely bs. That is a tax that can't be avoided even if you leave a positive carbon footprint. And as far as I can tell it doesn't nothing to help fight climate change. It gets the drama teacher his next vacation

No it’s not. It’s maybe a 1000 for carbon tax a year. I don’t agree with it but it’s not as much as people claim. 1000 for carbon tax 3000 property tax 5 percent sales tax. So idk how you think that equals 60 percent tax

If you make more than 100k net, you should set up a corporation and ask your company to pay your corp instead of your name and get taxed at 6-7% then pay yourself lower to lower your tax bracket, if you do this your company may pay you as a contractor so you will need to buy your own health incuranse which cost like 200/month.

@@rere5223 No overt provincial sales tax, but there are built in, hidden taxes on most purchases ie fuel, liquor, cigarettes, and most other items in the way of manufacturers tax. Either way, we get screwed pretty good.

@@guagua8268 no you can't. It's forced minimum investment. You can contribute more of your want, change your plan, investment strategy etc. You get access to the funds when you retire or if you're in financial hardship.
