I just wanted to THANK YOU! Your story was the beginning of understanding how to heal from AS. My husband and I have treated our health issues with all natural approaches. So when we realized he had AS shortly before you made this video, my husband started searching for other people who successfully found natural approaches. He was in his mid 60’s when we figured it out. We are convinced that our generally low inflammatory diet is what kept it at bay for this long. He had been out of town for a weekend and ate restaurant food twice in those three days and he had his first major flare up. He had SEVERE back pain, finger joints locking up, severe acute iritis (uveitis), painful bloating and indigestion. He was in bed so much. He had to quit his job. We were intrigued by the no starch diet you mentioned. We started eliminating starchy foods. We started hearing about carnivore and looked more into that. Long story short we’ve been carnivore (no plant foods) for just a couple months. Within weeks His pain was totally gone. His atrophied muscles became pliable again. His lost muscle mass grew back! Even the hole in his arm. I’m so happy that you didn’t give up! And also that you shared it here!!! We’d love to hear an update from you!

Just a reminder, everyone is different! Some people will heal quicker, some slower. Some people might need biologics, others don't. Some might need to look into their diet more rigorously, others may have to manage stress and sleep more. This video is not a one size fits all, rather, it should be used to encourage you to start trying new things. I thought everything i'm doing right now was crazy until it worked, now i'm getting better day by day.

I have non radiographic axial spondyloarthritis. I've been on two kinds of biologics so far. Cimzia almost three years until inflammation sky rocketed. Now I've been on Humira since February and it's helping so far...

Thanks for sharing your story. This was very encouraging. I’ve been having my current flare up for 2 years now and recently I got sick for a couple weeks abs my pain went down to a zero. I thought it was the illness that caused me to feel better but after hearing this I’m wondering if it was because I didn’t eat much those 2 weeks I was sick. Once I started feeling better abs eating again the pain came back. Gonna look into the diet you mentioned. Thanks so much for sharing your story!

Great information and story. I could totally relate to your story. The No Starch Diet and fasting saved me with my AS. It’s been over two and a half years and only the diet and it works. I know I can never cheat but I don’t care as this diet is lifesaving.

I agree it’s all about experimenting on yourself. Unfortunately for me no starch and even very strict carnivore and fasting doesn’t stop my pain although it is much lower. It all depends on what triggered the AS, where no starch alone works it is klebsiella. However for others it can be triggered by mould/toxins/parasites etc. Test and retest and speaking to specialists, FM practitioners and others experiences can lead you to try new things which could be the missing link.

It has also been linked to diabetes or pre-diabetes. Cytokines are produced by abdominal fat which have also been implicated. Stay really lean.

I just had lumbar fusion and now my upper thoracic spine seems to be shifting. I went as far as to find my birth mother to figure out what was happening. She said whatever she has destroyed her spine and that my little sister has it too. ( found out I have 2 little sisters) 🥰. I am so tired of dealing with this. I also work I. The medical field.
