being dyslexic, i once thought that i was cursed.. but then I've learned to love it.. it's just a matter of seeing it as a gift more than a burden.. when you try to imitate and be like everybody else, you'll end up disappointed, disappointed BIGTIME.. just try to be who you really are and learn to love it. :D

i'm taking a high school scientific program - and let's just say that it's hell i love reading but i'm too slow i love classical music, but when i tired to learn- i couldn't do it in 8th grade there where so many english books i started reading- that i couldn't finish In p.e class- i always had and still have hand-eye coordination issues and people tell me- crushing every sense of accomplishment i've been trying to damn grow: "what? you're still in book FOUR? you haven't read anything! " "A 7/20 on that easy math midterm? seriously?!" "it's sooo easy to read? you're still there? really? everyone i know has finished it already". i have around 3 tutors who come by once a week so i can make up on everything im behind in. this feels like curse sometimes- i could've been some music or athletic prodegy like my friends who have found their own clicks, but no i'm nothing- i'm just dyslexic. yay.

@DRAYS002 I don't think the crying is a symptom of dyslexia, however I do think it is directly related to having it. The emotional stress and embarrassment as well as the emotional scars caused by dealing with it as a child cause people with learning disabilities to be more emotional than most. If you can see a counselor it might help some. I just started seeing one, we just started to scratch the surface of my problems when I could no longer afford the appointments.

@01stanbk I think most of us feel that way. If it helps any I know exactly how you feel and at almost 40 am still dealing with it. Unfortunately I married someone who has no compassion about it, no understanding and no desire to understand.
