That would be amazing. I would especially enjoy a mixed book, with canning, herbal remedies from the garden, frugal tips, wisdom, and all kinds of goodies like that. I've seen a few come out with beautiful photographs but the content is lacking and they are really coffee table books, but I know Tessie's content would be real. I had the idea to write a book once but I got hung up on the editing, and how to format it to Amazon and all that. (I had it saved on a usb drive, and I'd printed it out just in case) just sat for quite a while. Then I found out my neighbor enjoyed editing, had experience, and would do it for a couple hundred bucks. Don't let something like this hold you back, just ask around.

Tessie, during WW2 most families were low income and all had Victory Gardens. Instead of using their yards for bushes and flowers they plowed them up and planted crops. Things like sugar, flour, coffee, butter were rationed. Mothers mended the families clothes and they made do. Now while they may have been poor or low income by the worlds standards they had something money cannot buy. They had self respect and held their heads up high. Neighbors looked out for each other they all shared from their bounties, They were happy and content with what they had. Christmas consisted of apples and oranges in their stocking and maybe one small toy for each child. People possessed a closeness we do not see today. So... Ms. Tessie, you are bringing back the old ways. You hold your head up high. You are an incredible humble lady and have a tremendous amount of knowledge that no higher education can offer. We all look forward to visiting with you each evening. GOD bless you, Tessie. ~ Debbie Good night everyone,

Hi Tessie! I use an indoor clothes rack that I hang my clothes on during the winter to dry. I remember being a kid and on Saturdays my mother always washed all of our clothes and hung them outside on the clothesline and we carried water from the spring up the hill so momma could wash those clothes. I remember my grandmother’s lining all the grandchildren up and giving us a dose of castor oil and my other grandmother gave us black draught syrup, yuck… but we all where healthy as a horse my great grandfather would say. Have a blessed night everyone!

That was very interesting. We hung our clothes out year around. Moma had a clothes line in the kitchen for winter. When the clothes would freeze , we would rehang them on the kitchen and let them finish drying. They had to be taken down before Daddy got home for supper or he would throw a fit.

Even with snow on the ground in winter as long as it's sunny I still use my American Sun Oven. And it's a lifesaver should someone's power go out and one wants cooked food. Also great as a dehydrator. Your sun cooked tomatoes look GREAT! 🙂 Am always curious when anyone says eating organic is expensive and always wonder how expensive are organic fruits and vegetables where they live. Maybe organics are less expensive here in CA, or FL, AZ where fruits and vegetables are grown year-round. We have so many organic farmers markets within a 20 mile radius that it's very affordable here.I go 30 minutes before the farmers market closes and get a produce for 50%-75% off because the farmers do not want to lug perishable fruits and vegetables home to their compost piles. And we grow a variety of vegetables, like our neighbors 10 months of the year and do not use pesticides or man made fertilizer. Lady bugs, and a few garden frogs work wonders. If someone cannot find affordable organic vegetables I always note the top vegetables and fruits grown commercially that have the most pesticides and recommend trying to buy them organically or better yet grow them if at all possible. Or even see if folks on a local Freecycle groups is offering them for free.. They are strawberries, spinach, kale, collard greens, and mustard greens. Nectarines, apples, grapes, bell peppers and hot peppers. Cherries, peaches, pears, celery and tomatoes. Tessie, you do a GREAT job growing strawberries, spinach, grapes and tomatoes. 🙂 I grow spinach, kale, collard and mustard greens 10 months of the year.

I'm a big fan of using a mustard plaster to clear a congested chest. My mom used them on me when I was a kid and I still do when I feel it's needed. NOTE: I'm not a naturopathic doctor or any kind of doctor but the mustard plaster works for me.

Yes love the castor packs. Been using mustard packs since I was 20 and yes they work great! I like clay packs as well. Castor oil packs exclusively is nearly a heal all from liver detoxification, breaking up cysts and tumors, pain, hair growth, and so much more

What I love is you just living you. Because as much as you are doing things, maybe the ways some people do it now, You also in your everyday life do things that you know from the past. I think we get blessed all the way around. Because that's the very means of who you are Past and current. You're wise soul. Full of wisdom money can't buy. I thank you. I get to call you my friend. Bless you bless you.

Tessie you are so knowledgeable and I love watching learning so much….. I wander if you could send a list of some more of your drying your herbs. I wish I had just half of your knowledge of herbs. You answered my question before I have sent it. Also if you don’t mind could you please tell me where you get your skirts? Blessings ❤

Would love to have that sun oven, but 500 dollars is not in my budget. I don't have that kind of money.
