Thanks for this nice review! Instead of the alcohol burner, I opt for Esbit tablets. I simply cut out a light sheet of scrap metal in the shape of the holder for the alcohol burner. It just weighs 15g - 3g more than the holder for the alc. burner...

My pleasure! It really is extremely well thought out and manufactured. 30s to set up! 🔥 Takes longer to inflate my inflatable pillow! LOL!

Glad I actually saw this. I didn’t know about your channel. I’m trying to decide/confirm getting a twig stove. I have an MSR Whisperlite International but I believe one should have a backup stove that only needs biomass because sticks & twigs will always be around you- restricting yourself to gas stoves is great til you run out of it if you’re on a week long trek. This is the way to go instead of using small cooking fires to cook like we’ve done. I’ve decided on titanium & am now checking this out. I think this decides it for me- the methanol burner for sure is a smart added bonus. Thanks for putting this out there!

Hey! Many thanks for dropping by! 😊 I was just talking about getting one from 'Bushcraft Essentials'.. Their products are definitely on the pricey side of things, but feedback and reviews have been amazing. I do agree with you that it's sometimes a good idea to have a spare, we just gotta try to keep the weight as low as possible.

Excellent review and presentation of the two stoves! I really like the videography that you've done for this. I've already got too many stoves, I think, but I may try this one because of the hinged design for the folding stove. Thank you for sharing😀

I've been studying all the different ultra-mini wood burning stoves and have decided I like the Lixada most of all! The previous version which comes in separate parts is a terrible design and much too complicated to assemble - and falls apart too easily. Lixada finally got it right in this hinged version - it's both extremely easy to set up AND very sturdy in design. I feel it even beats out the Firebox Nano because of its simplicity. I really feel not enough is being said about this particular stove on the internet - it really is the best in its class, and I don't understand why you don't emphasize that in this video. The only other pocket stove that can compete is the Nano - and that's $70!!! I ordered the Titanium Lixada for $34, and that includes the titanium alcohol stove in this video! More people need to know about this hinged version of this stove! This is good presentation and I really like your character and style.

I bought the same two items. My only issue so far is that it doesn't fold totally flat which makes me concerned about putting too much stress on the hinges when it's in my pack. Apart from that it was a bargain at the price (around $30-35 dollars for both if I remember correctly) to get something like that in titanium. The same style kit from Evernew is way more expensive.

Yup! I agree with the issue of not being able to fold-flat.. But as you said, I guess given the price-point, it's a fair compromise.. 😂

Add piece of folded tin foil to block alcohol stove hole in 2nd plate and you can also put solid fuel

Would of liked to seen wood burning in it, I have 5"x5" folding stoves was curious if its smaller size made a difference in how it burns. Overall good video, it allowed me to see the stove in comparison with your hand and I think I'll buy it to pair with my boundless voyage Dragonhorse folding titanium stove, it's small enough I think it would slip right into the Dragonhorse case and carry together. Thanks for taking the time to review it.

Hong, just a suggestion. You should link the items you showcase in your videos, in the description. I know it's some additional thing that you have to do, since you don't have affiliate links at the moment, but it will help your viewers out a lot. And with lots of immitation or lower quality rip offs being sold by scummy sellers, just googling the items based on the names sometimes may not be the safest way to buy things. Had my fair share of experience buying things advertised as something else, only to get the low quality knock off version. Lastly, I'm also very interested to buy your methanol bottle. Could you link the site you got that from as well please?

Hello ILSLF, thanks for the advice and suggestion. I will be looking into setting up an account to share affiliate links soon! 😀 With regards to the methonal bottle, I'm using a fuel bottle from (Trangia), and got it from Lazada, a Singapore based online shopping platform.

@@Hong.Wanderlust I second the opinion that you should have affiliate links or regular ones. For example in cases like this one since Lixada makes a bunch of different wood stoves. By any chance, do you have the link to the store where you bought it?

@@elpretender1357 Hello! Sorry for the late reply! I do have plans to set up an affiliate account sometime in the future. Thanks for your review, i have a question, how you turn off the fire at the end?
@Hong.Wanderlust
Жыл бұрын
Thank you! 🙂 (For twigs & branches) I usually let them burn out till they're ash, the pour water over them to ensure they're completely out. (For fuel) I use a pot-lid or something similar to completely cover the top, depriving it of oxygen will kill the fire quick. Just be cautious not to burn yourself! 🙂
