One thing I find incredible, outside of how accurate the portrayal of how weird little girls really are is. Is the fact that the idea of a tea party is a relic of a now bygone age. The tea party was something the various ladies of the houses would host and attend in order to talk, gossip, and be busy while the men were off doing something that they could not attend. Amd as such little girls were mimicking that with their dolls because they saw their mother's doing it. But we don't have tea parties anymore, women can just go out and meet whenever, yet still the idea of a tea party with dolls is now intrinsically tied to little girls with dolls....it's funny how that works

@@dapo_ think of it like little boys playing with GI Joe. Little kids are exploring concepts of death and morality and stuff, and part of that involves having their toys "die." By playing with a concept, they're better able to fit it in their head. Besides, it's a lot of fun to make heavy interpersonal drama between toys, because then you can have stuff like this video... and what if Mr. Sheddingskin has a cousin who gets angry at the poisoning? Then you have a brand new rival! And so the game continues.

@@dapo_ There was this one time I was babysitting this kiddo and I crocheted a little Elephant for him since he collected stuffed Elephants. And then was starting to do a little roleplay game, and he asked me if I could play with him. I answered with a gentle nod, and then he started explaining what the roleplay was about. Apparently, Baby Elephant 's parents (that's what he named the Elephant I made for him) were going through a rough divorce and Baby Elephant was going to live with Mommy Elephant because Daddy Elephant cheated on Mommy Elephant. I remember being so shocked that I just about stood there in silence until the boy started explaining the rules of the game. This kid was freaking 5 years old...
