What I found works is if you sit back on your on back leg, point the front one out, bend the knees, and rock back and forth so when the ball comes you get a good step, and you can open up and hit with your hips.

big barrel and small barrel are basically the same thing. one just gives you a little closer chance at making contact. plus i didnt use a composite .

#13 on curacao always raises both arms up 2 the side 2:10 4:23 and he also did it wen he was trotting the bases on his home run against japan. i bet he did it a few other times in the 2009 llws. not tht i think theres anything wrong with tht tho
