Sounds like the load stick is just an alternate way of measuring your ride height and wheel weight. However, it's not technically the wheel weight because you're not measuring at the wheel the way a scale does. Instead you are measuring the amount of force that the Spring is exerting. I'd expect that the load number that you measure with the load stick is going to be greater than the wheel weight that you measure with a scale because the Shock (and therefore the load stick) is mounted inboard of the wheel. The Shock/ loadstick is also not mounted vertically. . The advantage of a scaling load stick is that you can change springs and reset the right height and will wait without messing with the scales.
