I did it allready years ago😂 I dismentled 2107 motor, put some grease to the crankshaft bearings and starter tooth ring, jammed startermotor bendix wheel and car moved! Starter burned quite fast😕 But here is idea for you Garage 54 makers, I will make anfibious car from my Samara after few years... Could you make your onwn version from that after few months?💥 Like your channel! But some times is hard to watch Lada destroying😅 I am a Lada lover, bought wery *unknown car Lada Granta years ago. Try to move something reeeeeeeally heavy, I mean train wagon heavy, with JUST ONE Lada engine and changing just the gear ratio of the coupling, or joining several transmitions together to get a very low gear.

Actually, the train wagon is relatively is relatively easy to pull, because the rolling resistance of the iron wheels on rails is minimal.

He had about 15 bags on the roof ( some more on the rear seat and top of trunk). Thats about 750kg and only 125kg on each of the 6 roofbeams. As a proffessional russian he knows, he can trust that lada beams easily. Nothing to fear at all.

@@narancs5 That's more to prevent roll over and instability not that the roof wouldn't take it. Any even half assed well build car will withstand its own weight on the roof (to be safe in rollover), and truly well built cars will last many times their own weight on the roof. Like 5 SAAB's can be stacked on top of each other and the lowest one won't really deform. 😂

Those seats are mint. Likely out of a Japanese kei car via China since China is Russia's largest trade partner. Not easy to get German things since the war!

Do the independent brakes - 4 master cylinders connected to a joystick in an X layout and the master cylinders separately connected each to a respective wheel. Drive, and use the joystick to activate each brake independently to steer. (or use 4 brake pedals?) Also, hook up the throttle to the steering wheel.

@@thefreedomguyuk Dude, not an actual electronic joystick, you clown :P A metal rod that pivots like a joystick, which actuates pushrods into the master cylinders. Like a FWD manual shifter mechanism with a nylon ball on the bottom and rods welded to the shift rod - push it forward, front brakes engage. Push it to the forward left, the front left brake actuates. Push it to the left, both left brakes actuate. And so on in that fashion.

I used to have a picture of a VW Jetta, that was overloaded. They went to Home Depot and bought lots of building supplies. There was one ton of cement bags in the rear seat. Then they loaded several hundreds of pounds of drywall and plywood on the roof. Home Depot wouldn't let them leave until they signed a waiver for potential damages. The car was spotted a few blocks away with the rear shocks shoved thru the trunk.

In Canada, if you have a pickup truck, you just load the back bed up with compacted snow for extra weight to improve traction a bit.

Somewhere in the '80's,my father had a friend with an Lada and in the winter he was driving @ with an cast iron heater of @60-70kg's in it's trunk. But 2,5Tones.....pour Lada.... Those car's are almost indestructible....

The actual result for the 1.5 ton test occurred around 14:03 when the Lada had essentially no momentum and yielded around 568 kg. The 800 kg they claimed was a product of the Lada's inertia as a result of the relatively short distance they were able to accelerate (uninhibited by the Hummer) after allowing the Lada to drift backward slightly. Nonetheless, it was still entertaining and the results were mostly meaningful.

When I was a kid, most people here drove big RWD American cars and carrying one or two sacs of sand or road salt in the trunk was normal in winter. By the time Ladas started being imported into Canada, most new cars were FWD, but Lada drivers still relied on the old trick of adding weight in the trunk.

I owned a '91 pontiac sunbird 4 cylinder 5 speed. on the way to a weekend concert with a friend, we came to a long, steep hill. I had a tent, 2 chairs, and a folding table in the trunk. it started loosing ground so I pulled over to the shoulder and started over in 1st. I could only go up to 3rd and made the top of the hill on the shoulder going about 40 with the gas pedal on the floor.

I have 2wd 92 Silverado, I have never put anything the bed in winter, I've only had it stuck once, but my truck also has a locked diff, I installed a aftermarket rear end so I'm sure that helps. My 91 C1500 4.3 truck was a 1 tire fryer, it got stuck if it thought it was snowing lol.

So for a couple episode idea, take a Lada and weld the back doors shut. Cut the roof off at just behind the front seats and plate it in so it will be a truck! Then take the engine out the front and put it in the back and see how big of wheelies you can do!! Hell ya!! LoL these guys a crazy, I love it!!

In Michigan a rear wheel drive car takes about 140 lb, they sell gravel or sand in heavy duty bags at 70 lb each. For a small pickup truck you need 300-500 lbs, for a full size truck up to 1,000 lbs.

Lots of cars nowadays uses something like a snow mode for setting off in snowy terrain. What it does is that car shifts into second gear and you start moving with lower rpm on a tires, so you increase a grip. pretty simple and handy when you are stuck in the snow.

Really cool test, I've always wanted to see how much lateral force a vehicle can apply with X weight over the drive wheels. Just wish they'd done this on a controlled surface like inside the shop so you can ensure the same amount of traction every time vs the tire studs digging through the snow to the surface below affecting the results. Hard to imagine that the weight on that little car is 700 pounds more than my Ford F-150 weighs. Unreal.

In a Skoda 105 which was rear wheel drive with engine hanging behind rear axle you actually had to put some weight in front as it would have plenty of traction on ice but would refuse to steer.

I've got a Toyota Dyna (3.0LD4DT) that wheelspins really badly unless I have a ton bag on the rear axel, although I haven't made it struggle for traction from weight yet and I think I've put at least 2.5-3 ton on the back of it. Is it legal to have welded diffs in the UK?

I am guessing that the more you add directly to the tail end is changing the weight balance enough to move more than the weight of the bags rearward? Would be interesting to put the car on corner scales and measure the weight on the rear empty then after adding weight.
