Sea sickness has never been a problem with me in many sea trips and 4000 hours of low level radio tracking circle flying in 77 years. But I have observed great success with Bonine (half at night and again early in morning, use in combination with wrist pressure bands. I follow many UTube folks and many of you fish that same area/reef. Those "long lived" rock fish commonly get overfished thanks to the GPS/MARKING/Fish Finders. Be forewarned! When you come out of the harbor to the first red buoy start drifting on the sandy bottom with a little bait and you will catch tommy croakers. They are great Ling Cod Bait and if you bleed them out when you first catch them they taste great if you smoke them. Otherwise if they die without bleeding them out they taste like Iodine. I always carried a light weight spinning rod in case you encounter a piece of floating kelp. Cast a spinner or cast master near the kelp and you will always hook a nice Spanish Mackerel to use as Ling Cod bait. Get a live bait tank and some Squid jigs, some days you can't catch anything unless you use squid outside Princeton. I grew up fishing there and I had a skin on frame kayak that I used to catch many nice fish. My family started fishing there in 1960 after we moved from Pennsylvania in 1958, we started with a fourteen foot aluminum Sears boat on a trailer and soon moved on to much bigger boats. We lived in East Palo Alto from 1958 until 1968 then moved to Lakewood Village in Sunnyvale and bought a big home. Back then we purchased the property for 26,000.00 dollars After my mother died in 1996 we sold the same property for 1.5 million. I now live in Israel and I am 69 years old but I still love fishing. If you ever get to Israel look me up and we can fish either the Mediterranean or the sea of Galilee. The sea of Galilee or as we call it the Kinneret has lots of monster fresh water fish and hardly anyone fishes it. Best bait is a live Goldfish and you can really make some surprising catches. i.ytimg.com/vi/k4JcrAPM2VA/maxresdefault.jpg

If your like fishing bar type lures across rocky zones it really helps to use assist hooks which go on the top ring vs the treble on the bottom ring. You can make your own assist hooks. For the lings the asset hooks even increases your hook up rate.
