I wouldn't say they've been forgotten, but hardly ever heard. Dave Sinton, who owns them, has made a couple of videos but it's not like seeing them played live. I wish Benny and a few other talented musicians could get the chance to play them.

Wow.. just wow .. beautiful voice .. and very clever to have made that instrument
Thank you for posting this. It's a fantastic instrument and a beautiful song. Is there any chance you can get into a recording studio for a high quality audio recording of this song? I'd really like to hear the full range of this instrument. Also, you sing it well, with a plain, straight-forward, clear voice that still bears the emotion of the lyrics.

Very nice - what an impressive permutation of the combolin - I wish camera was pulled out so I could see your right hand as well, but other than that, excellent. You are in standard tuning here with drop D? I've long been working on learning many of the Corries' numbers, with ultimate goal of their mind-warping "Great Silkie" - I noticed, at least on one combolin track of the Corries, that they were matching a sharpened DADGAD to a flattened standard to great effect. Keep up the great music!
@Bennytet
5 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes standard tuning with drop D is how it was tuned on the video (now using 432Hz tuning) kzitem.info/news/bejne/k3ys1oKnoWSHfJg This link is a better camera angle for you to see the right hand attempting to keep time and hit the notes haha

Made a mistake, sorry Benny it it 6-5-4-3-5-2-4-43 I think is what Roy did. I like yer we "gluttal-stop" vocal. Nice. 6 being Highh "E! btw. The other pick Roy did was 5-2-4-3 6-2-4-3. )different time sig) that's where I'm getting confused. I tink you'll know what I'm on about. It might have been different on their combolins though. I'm referring to the guitar in standard tuning. Because of my disability I can't achieve any of said, I just know that's how it's done.
