Damn Jon. This is the best tracking guide I've seen so far! Thanks for making it so simple. 🤩 I'll definitely try that out! And I love the shirt! 😉

Cheers bro!! Yeah it works great to smooth out handheld shakiness and I use it whenever my clips need just a little bit extra stabilization. I don't use it as much with the GH5 though because of the god-like stability of it. Still the best in the business!

Great tutorial, thank you ! I do have a question. How to do tracking if there some obstacles in front of my tracking objects ?
@JonBear
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! For obstacles you will need to do some manual tracking. I would just pull the points on the frames that are not accurate manually - or track the whole thing manually if the auto tracking isn't able to process it at all. In the end it's not magic and it autotracking does not work with obstacles and low contrast areas. Fun secred: For my bear fist text I had to manually track the last half because the auto tracker failed to follow so sometimes we just gotta do it the hard way

Awesome video but... be sure to get the full version of Davinci first. I still subscribed because video teaching time is important and this helped a bunch either way!

Hello Jon! Thanks for breaking down the effect but maybe you know how to do the same stabilization not with words but with different elements? (lijke lines, figures)
@JonBear

Hi Mary! Appreciate it. To add an element to the tracked data, do the same process but keep the Foreground and then add the element on the next node. Exactly like how when I tracked the words to the helmet. Hope that is clear!

hey jon, I have been through so many of these tutorials, and I have not found one as simple or straightforward as yours, so thank you for that. I have a few questions; I have done everything you have said to a T, and made sure to follow through on all the details, however I am not able to track movement as smoothly as you and countless others have been able to do. I make content with video games, and I am desperately trying to track an in-game item without going through frame by frame and changing the zoom. even if i wanted to do that through an hour long video, It would look awful and stutter everywhere. using this tracking technique would help me a lot, except that it is not working. you have said to choose a high contrast object, and I have been trying to track a purple figure on the screen yet the tracker jumps around to objects that are black, yellow, or brown constantly. there is not a single other thing on this clip that is purple, and yet it is not tracking it. how would you fix this problem? also, is there a way to turn it on and off super easily? ie. tracking an object for half the clip until it blows off the screen... please lmk! Thank you so much for your time and consideration

@noname I'm not familiar with the issue. Try asking on the Blackmagic forums or reddit. Usually technical people hang out there and they're happy to help if you are polite ✌️
