Thank you. It has been a learning curve cooking with charcoal but I think I've got it now. I'm enjoying it. I picked up some chestnuts in the backyard yesterday and roasted some on my little grill. They turned out nicely!

The bacon grease and putting the paper in the right area of the chimney helped. 😆 I was putting it in the bottom of where the charcoal goes instead of the bottom underneath. I probably should have watched your chimney short first. 😆 🤣 works great now. And the GoPro still works great.

Put your paper below the charcoal platform in the starter. Hold the starter upright, put paper up into area under charcoal platform, put charcoal in top section.

Tip on the Chimney: put the crumpled paper UNDER the chimney then put the charcoal INSIDE of the chimney, then light the paper. Works for me everytime with 3 sheets of newspaper.

I was gonna comment on the paper location, but it seems others have already mentioned it. If I get impatient and want to start things faster, I put the paper on the bottom and light it up. When it is burned to ash, I pick it up and stick a second set of paper under there and light than one. Twice the burn time seems to get things going quicker.

@najib-abrahamorabi2996

you use a chimmney generally to get some charcoal lit, not all of them. Then the lit charcoal can light up the rest of the charcoal on your cooking surface. The reason I find this works better is what will happen is while you are waiting for the charcoal to whiten or ash over on the top of the charcoal starter, the charcoal at the bottom of the starter will burn off. I generally light a few which takes ten minutes and then dump all of them on the top of the pile of the charcoal and they will cook down (top down method). Also, lump charcoal does not have the binders that other charcoals do so it does not have to be completely lit and burns a lot more clean.

Nifty grill. Sounds a bit too heavy for me, but pretty cool that it’s portable. Just remember your supposed to cook the food, not your camera Sis. I like your table setup. Let me know if you want help designing a backyard cooking area. Sounds like it would be fun.

Awesome review on the lodge cast iron grill. I really like it. I love cast iron. I have MS also, I struggle with lifting heavy objects, but over the past 2 years I’ve regained a lot of my strength back in my arms and legs. At one point I couldn’t lift a folder or my phone. Prayers for you and journey to regaining strength. It’s a roller coaster for us I know. Take care and stay safe. Enjoyed the video. The burgers and hotdogs looks delicious.😊🌸

Thank you. I'm sorry to hear that you have MS also. I know it is a struggle. I miss my brain the most. When I have flare ups I have issues remembering words and concentrating on tasks. I also get sensory overload if I'm on electronics too much so I have to limit my KZitem time these day. I've been on a strict diet and exercise routine trying to regain as much of my health as I can and getting this excess weight off. My hands are my weak spot right now. With each flare up it changes though. Prayers going out for you.

@@BobbiJo It looks like it would help hide the flames in stealth camping situations. Plus the efficiency of coals. You can use an upside down 12 inch Cast Iron pan to use as a lid to help smoke the meat better, and hide the glow of your coals. 100 bucks on Amazon. I've got my eyes on it. 😏🙏🏼

Nice review. I hope it will put a smile on your face knowing that I'm watching your review from Bahrain. One more tip that will make you love this grill even more. Use the lower part as a stove-top griddle to cook indoor in the rainy days (or any day) the flat side is for eggs, pancakes, smash burgers and so. The other side is for streaks sausage and everything that you'd like to put some grill marks on!!
