Anyone who compares this to Mitchell Miller doesn't know what they're talking about. Miller was an overt and violent racist who felt no remorse or shame for what he did, even after everything had come to light about him. He didn't deserve the honor of playing in the NHL. Mailloux made a poor, immature judgment call, which is very serious, yes, but it seems apparent that he understands and regonizes the severity of his actions and wants to make a wholehearted effort to better himself going forward. Major difference there.

The popular opinion in the media and hockey fanbase is that the Canadiens showed disrespect to sexual misconduct victims by selecting Logan. While I understand where those people are coming from, this interview is why I disagree with that. Both Logan and the Canadiens appear to be 100% serious about fixing these issues, helping Logan better himself as a person, and most importantly helping the victim mentally recover from this traumatic event, rather than sweeping it under the rug and ignoring it like so many people have been saying

No question what he did as a ‘youth’ was very wrong. In this great country Canada, the Youth Criminal Justice Act deals with these matters and affords youth a second chance without the record following them through their adult life. He’s paid his debt to society as a youth. Anyone here not make a mistake…please stand up! We all fall, and what’s important is how he picks himself up and learns from this experience. He ‘must’ be sincere in asking for forgiveness from the victim and her family. He must face the victim and family and listen to their story and how it’s impacted them. To hear from the family what they expect him to do moving forward! This incident cannot be held over Logan’s head for the rest of his life. Why this incident is even spoken of when this happened while he is a youth is against legislation in Canada. I understand this happened in Sweden, not sure what their youth laws are there respecting disclosure. Protections are in place by law so youth can learn from their mistakes and there be no public disclosure. Make good what has happened! Ask for forgiveness! How can you be an advocate for this sort of behaviour moving forward? The Canadiens believe in your God given talent! Mostly they believe in you as a person… a human being! Go hard and go best young man!!! Wear that ‘Habs’ jersey with pride and play with vigour and to your highest potential!

Fact number 6: He testifies publicly and submits to public questioning from journalists. Fact Number 7: He is involved with the largest and most prestigious hockey organization in the world on a youth awareness campaign. We're only just starting. For the judges who present themselves as « offended virgins » nothing will be acceptable and they want a stoning in the public square. Civilization moves forward with people who know how to use punishment judiciously and accept the notion of rehabilitation as a complementary solution when it is deserved.

Recent quotes from the habs have made it seem like he’s not that repentant. Most members have acted like their just going to move past this without much focus or remorse. I haven’t seen any genuine reaction to it. Can’t be too sure cause I don’t know the future but wouldn’t be surprised if we see him in more incidents throughout his career.

@@danielmontreal007 Hey man if you just follow what the internet says and tells you to do that’s not my problem 😂. My point is when you look at the team’s comments they make a lot of contradictory statements over whether or not he is actually trying to better himself. Also my unsure sounding statements were used because as much as people in the internet like to pretend they know everything. Acting like all the facts have been released is stupid at best irresponsible at worse. Don’t just assume that the he’s a good kid just like others shouldn’t assume he’s a monster. You don’t know him, you don’t know if he cares.

Regardless of age, this is a completely unacceptable action, however I don’t think that this should ruin his entire NHL career. His apologies and steps to apologize and learn seem pretty bland as of right now granted it’s still only been a week or two since the ordeal and a couple days since the draft. Curious to see how this plays out in the future and if he really means what he’s saying on this video or if it’s just an attempt to save his career.

He rewarded this kid for his hockey skills. He is smart enough to know that this kid was going to get picked on 2nd round. Why would we let the other teams get him ? Besides, he didn’t rape her. She agreed to have her pic taken. She just didnt agree for him to show that pic to his friends. He already went trough sweden justice system. The fact that the media is making such a big deal on that is punishment enough. He is facing it daily.

no matter how much he pays it will never be enough for some people. Plus he did pay his fine, so that is his restitution if you want to put a $$$ amount on it. I wonder what less than honourable actions we could find if we started digging though the virtue signalers lives like yourself? My guess is you did some shit you feel guilty about so you feel the need to make a kid pay disproportionately for his dumb mistake.
