Likes video at the 5 second mark because I know I'm gonna gain something this video. I love your tutorials so much Josh. I'm eternally grateful! I'm a classically trained flutist (BM) and your channel has helped me so much with music tech. Sending you lots of love from sunny South Florida.

OK this video is 6 years old. I'm trying to follow along and get as far as 1:57 and the "right click and select splice to transients is not in the menu. Is something out of date?

Great question. It appears that they removed that option from the right-click menu unless you've turned on Flex Time. So just turn on flex. Then turn on flex for the track. Right-click/control-click and you'll see the option. Slice the transients, and then turn off Flex Time on the track and globally, and that'll get the job done. However, there is a "Slice at Transient Markers" key command you can add a shortcut to, to make this even quicker. I'm going to do a shorts tutorial on this today, so look out for that if you want to check it out.

How come I can't slice the audio file up like you do. I get a lot of small and some single big ones. I have seen the tutorial several times and can't see where im going wrong

I have a question, might be a stupid question because you might have previously covered it in a previous video. But using Alchemy (I really like its parameters) how do I for instance automate the pitch of an 808 sample to get a swelling effect?

When I'm trying to change the loop mode of pre-existing synths in Alchemy, the play marker is just playing straight past the loop marker and not bouncing back?

Hi Im having issues with exporting as audio files. For some reason it wont let me export multiple files at once instead I am only able to export one at a time even though I have multiple files selected, any idea why this is?

Only thing I don’t like is how it kind of compresses the sound. Wish it was more like the granular synthesis you could create on a tracker or utau

Is there a reason why when loading different audio files into Alchemy; the waveforms appear to be "blocky" instead of a more traditional sine wave in the Alchemy editor?

Is it normal for the samples to get quiter after you import them into alchemy? if so, is there a way to prevent this? Thanks! Your videos have been a great help!

how is this different from wavetable synthesis? don't both involve isolating small parts of a sound and editing or morphing them? Thanks to anyone who can answer
@jimreed3064

It is using grains of audio samples chopped from the master imported sample file rather than toggling through different types of waveform shapes ordered in either a list or selected with an algorithm that then get applied to create sounds..

On 02:00 min you right click and you get the option "slice at transient markers". I don't have that option. Figuring out why. Do you have an idea? I could email you a screenshot.

+Don Segers My apologies, I should have explained that in the video. If you havne't used the Slice at Transient Markers recently it won't show up unless you enable Flex Time. So just enable Flex Time on the track, and then right-click and you'll see it. You can also just assign a key command to it. See this article for more: www.logicprohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74428

Having expertise in CP tonal harmony and orchestration, as well as synthesis and tech, could you please advise me on a tangential question? I am studying composition and technology for film and games and like to combine traditional and electronic sounds. The results often sound indistinct and muddy. Could you give any suggestions?
