I’m not a musician, but I’ve been trying out Logic Pro X as a sound design tool for video. The live loops are an awesome set of tools that I could use to also possibly enhance live content creation (podcasting or video creation) and possibly even up my presentation skills at work with sound by using it as a sound board. The inclusion of live loops is a game changer for me, all I need to do is figure out how to incorporate it into my workflow.

Amazing tutorial & great song! But what if I want to do a tempo change during a live show, like to switch between songs? I know I can kind of do it by changing the tempo settings in the usual layout, but it's not smooth. How can I do tempo changes live & smooth?

Also wondering the same thing. I'd like to build a 4 song set of live loops. But I can't figure out how to apply metronome changes separately to each "song". Everything just goes off the tempo that's set in the track area. I can only hold a tempo if I turn on cycle for that tempo area. I have to move the cycle if I want to change songs/beats. Is there a way to automatically pair cells in loop grid to a tempo in track area? Looking to fire a new beat in the correct tempo with just one button.

Can you use it as a guitar looper? I’d like to be able to record multiple guitar tracks with different tones/panning/volume etc as sort of a live performance recording. I can see how it’d be able to load pre-recorded scenes, but not sure if it’s possible to record scenes on the fly with multiple guitar tracks
@hellomynameisjoenl

I think that should be totally possible. I’d use a MIDI-device like a Launchpad and assign buttons to essential functions like making a new track and recording a new cell. For effects you should either pre-make them and have them ready before the performance or use external effect pedals.

Hi, thanks for all your cool tutorials. :) Apologies in advance for my jumbled questions, I'm still in the very early stages of figuring it all out. Firstly, you said this won't be so tactile for a live performance setup and a midi controller would be better. Why is that? Do you have a video on that? I have an Akai MPK mini keyboard, and I'm trying to figure out (second question) what's the difference between the pads on my keyboard and the pads on the launchpad? Can't they be programmed in the same way? Last question: when I open the controller assignments window it looks different to yours - no easy/expert view button, just says "no assignment selected". Is that because the pads on the keyboard don't work that way?

You just may be my hero! I have some of the Akai pads triggering Logic Live Scenes but not consistently. Then you showed me how to set up the scene triggers in 1 step rather than 2 steps.. Whoah! before that I was trying to put 2 key commands (next scene plus trigger chosen scene) but it was hit or miss. They way you showed us seems perfect! However nothing happens when I touch the pad (only the globals workin)----OR it does work but with a loading delay. When I look in the key command editor it doesn't appear it assigned a function . it just says Live Loops Scene. Perhaps my columns are not correct? What do the columns represent or do? thanks
