While I respect the G502 for it's legacy as a popular mouse for gaming, you *really* have to want the G502 shape, the extra buttons and/or USB C to buy the X/X Plus. On Amazon, the X Plus without RGB is 140USD, and with RGB it's 155USD. The G Pro Superlight is cheaper at 110USD while being a lighter mouse, and the only thing I don't like as someone who owns a G Pro Superlight is charging over Micro-USB. However, I'd be willing to bet that the existence of the G502 X Plus is the beginning of Logitech moving over to USB C on all their gaming mice.
@Techtacula
Жыл бұрын
Yeah USB C is finally in that stage that we are seeing way more adoption for it. And absolutely, you will need to like the shape ofc, G pro superlight and this are completely different shapes, it just depends what you are looking for. Best thing to do though, wait for the powerplay to go on sale and grab that. Then no more needing to charge over micro haha

Just switched to a G502 X Plus after 2 years of using a G Pro X Superlight with several different mouse feet. I love the way it feels in my hand, yes, it's heavy but don't be weak? 😂😂 All jokes aside this thing helps me track better so far in my games, I need to improve my flicking, but my aim is more consistent for sure with this one. I'm using it weird though... Index on G8 (Primary Click - Fire/Attack) Middle on Left Click (Secondary Click - ADS) Ring on Right Click (Left CTRL - Crouch/Change Stance/Slide/Dive) Pink on the right grip Thumb touching all 3 side buttons which are ( `~ - Push to talk for Discord for me, Forward - Lethal Throwables, Backward - Melee Attack or Tactical depends on the game)

You are the second person to Blow the scroll wheel like that- is this a thing? do people actually do that in everyday use?! I dont get why or how this became a thing in the reviews. I love the hyper-scroll wheels that Logitech mice use. There are so many use cases where I need to scroll down sheet after sheet of a PDF, click to unlock and scroll away, opposed to other mice that I have to keep, scrolling, down and down and down. This and the really easy to use Logitech Software are really the main things that seal the deal for me. I found a decent deal on the 502XP so I jumped on it. I've had many Logitech G mice in my life(still use G604 for work, needed something to upgrade from Roccat AIMO). Corsair and (shitty) Razer mice cannot even compare. Corsair should stick to making good RAM and Razer should stick to making Laptops, Razer Software is utter garbage, sure its a great/med mouse, but that software is utter nightmare to fiddle through. Corsair ICUE or whatever is better than Razer's so they get more points. Honestly after using so many mice: Logitech > Roccat > Corsair > Glorious > Red Dragon/UTech > Amazon Basics > Razer. Because every Razer mouse I have had has always had some problem or the software causes mouse issues.

Between the raised top buttons and the absent DPI indicator light I can't see how this mouse can be considered to be the absolute best. Anyone familiar with firearms knows that the best gun is the one that feels good in your hands and in all honesty the same can be said for a mouse so unless it has perfect qualities none of them should be considered to be the very best. With that said, these are some amazingly huge downsides for a mouse at that price point. You can get a Corsair night sword for half the price and have a mouse that's pretty much exactly the same just a little heavier. Logitech fan boys are becoming Apple fanboys
@Techtacula

While there will always be objective opinions, the rest is subjective. And by all means, so much comes down to personal preference. My goal is to provide as much information in my reviews as possible, tell you what I think, but ultimately leave you with enough info to make a decision on whether you think the product is right for you or not. It's a premium mouse with a high price tag, no doubt. And while I do compare aimlab results between this mouse and the G Pro X Superlight, they are different mouse tiers and so in this particular tier of mouse, based on its size and shape, it's absolutely one of the best imo. In regards to your comparison to a nightsword, you are comparing a new wireless mouse to a wired mouse that came out 2 years prior. Its going to have price reductions. Plus, doesn't it say a lot that this wireless mouse is lighter than a wired one of a similar shape and size?

You missed one of the biggest things: 1. Battery life: G502 X PLUS = achieves up to 130 hours of battery life with RGB off and 37 hours when RGB is set to always on. G502 X = up to 140 hours of battery life. Having to constantly charge is one of the caveats of a wireless mouse, and the less you have to charge the better and more convenient, so in this dept. the G502 X (no RGB) wins.
@Techtacula
5 ай бұрын
So a few things here. 1. The G502 X is wired. You are referring to the G502 X Lightspeed. 2. It's not a competition? The whole point is to have different models that fit different needs. Also the G502 X Lightspeed was not available in Australia at the time of recording, hence why I didn't cover it specifically. 3. I agree constantly charging sucks. My experience with the X Plus with the RGB brightness turned down low and stuck to a single colour was pretty solid. But also this is where the Logitech Power Play Mousepad comes in where the mouse charges through the mouse pad and you never have to plug it in.

Like I absolutely love it, and feel my accuracy has been much more consistent with the lighter mouse. I have the g502 hero, then I went to the glorious model o wireless, then went to the superlight. I gave my mum the g502 just for a comfortable mouse for browsing the Internet etc, and my god everytime I use it I'm like holy crap this is heavy as hell!

Same, I'm spoiled by the superlight. I would like a mouse with more buttons but now because of the superlight, weight is the biggest determining factor for me

you call it the DPI Button, I call it Aim Button purely because I rebind right click to it for almost every game because when I first got an actual gaming mouse it was my dad's old Razer Naga and the right click was going out so I rebound it to 1 on the side buttons and now I can't aim any other way, it must be on my thumb same with whatever the crouch key is (varies by game) and whatever the inventory/journal key is plus I found the DPI I like and have gotten good with (1600 due to having a small mouse area which is what I always assumed DPI was actually meant for)

Why is the G502 one of the best gaming mice ever made? Imo it's one of the most mediocre. Heavy, old and there features aren't even that useful. Maybe the shape sure but the DAV3 does so much better. G502 X is a refresh of an already shit mouse still having a shit weight. I wen't from a g402 to a Lamzu Atlantis the difference was PHENOMENAL. Lamzu more comfy (subjective) better feeling clicks (objective, g402 is springy not sure about g502), infinitely better weight, better side button placement and easier to work with shape. The g502 is similar enough to where it's side button placement is also shit and the shape is very similar. £150 for 100+ gram mouse with many useless features and gimmicks, no thanks. I can buy a lamzu atlantis for £90 and basically everything about it is better maybe aside from the scrollwheel and how the lamzu doesn't have a useless sniper button

I was logitech fanboy, but some years ago (about 10) they started to put really crappy and cheap switches for mouse buttons. I stopped buying anything from logitech after i replaced some mouse about 5 times (on guarantee time) due to mouse button dying. Now anything but logitech, their quality is worse than chinese alishop stuff.

I like these mouses that have a lower thumb "Sniper" button, I use those thumb buttons heavily. The thumb button is actually the main point that makes me want to buy them, because I bind the thumb button to crouch which is used a lot in shooter games. The thing is, no one else really uses it as much as I do, so the reviews don't mention if there's any troubles with them. I switched from a G402 to a Razer Basilisk V3 and I was happy at first but the thumb button became loose. And with this new G502 having a removable adjustable button thingy, I question the durability of it. But if it ever became cheaper, I'd probably try this at some point. :P
@Techtacula
Жыл бұрын
Yeah while many may use it as a dpi shift button, others like yourself will use it for common actions that frees up a key on the keyboard. As fas as duribility goes, all I can say is that the switch feels really solid and the cap is held on with a strong magnet so I dont think you would have any issues long term. It's benen 6 months so far for me and 0 issues.

I will not buy another Logitech product until they produce a fix for the MX Mechanical and MX Mechanical MIni keyboards so that auto-dimming can be disabled. I have no problem recharging my keyboard. I do have a problem not having reliably lighted keys when I am working.

the G604 is king. This mouse does not have the buttons to be king. With the 604 not only do you get crouch and Run, and guns 1-6, it also has the sideways clicks on middle mouse for if you want distance change for sniper or changing to under barrel if the game has it. With this dork mouse you are fumbling on the keyboard or your Nostromo speedpad for those functions.

About the weight discussion. I'm probably one of those odd ones out, but I simply can't deal with those "lightweight" mice. It's why I put in all the extra weights into my current G502 and even after very long gaming sessions I am having no issues with my hands, wrists or arms. It also doesn't really feel "heavy" imho and I am far from being a physical fit person. I also always play way better on "heavier" mice. Be it for shooters (more in the past than today as I rarely play them anymore) or other games. It's more about the feel/how comfortable they are for a user than the actual weight imho. Moving "the weight" is also a kind of feedback. It feels sturdier, I am feeling more of the mouse and of my hand. Meanwhile the "lightweight" mice just feel...flimsy. They are just overall way more comfortable to me. One of my favorite mice in the past was the MX1000 which weighs 200 grams IIRC. It's also one reason why I dislike playing with the Nintendo Switch Pro controllers by now. My X-Box and the PS5 controllers just feel way better, partly due to the heavier weight.

If you like them! Im happy for you! I thought i would add a comment thats not singing praise’s

If they use same micro switches as in g602. Get ready for mass lawsuits. Failure rate is at 20% within first 6months. And their policy for replacing failed ones is stalling untill warranty runs out.

Seems good mouse but I cannot move away from "mmo" mouses however Razer made the removable/changeable side panel which is absolutely perfect for me. using 6 button panel for FPS games and 12 button for MMO games and 3D-modelling etc. Definetly will try logitech mouses again if they ever make something like that and wireless.

The only truly groundbreaking mouse was Logitech's G600. Online reviewers keep claiming there are comparable MMO mice, but that is simply not true because the G600 has 31 programmable buttons. Most mice have 6 to 15 side buttons. The G600 has 12, each of which can be mapped to a second function with the GShift button. To date no other MMO mouse has the same number of mappable buttons. It really is too bad that Logitech has not attempted to release a modern model after discontinuing it; maybe there's more money to be made making minor updates to existing mice. The G502 may be a good mouse, but mice like these are so common with every iteration offering just some cosmetic or marginal improvements that most users probably do not notice in a placebo test.
