Hi, I have that mouse but came to see about this keyboard. 1:) That button on top of the mouse is not a toggle for turning the mouse on and off. It's a ratchet lock for the scroll wheel. Press once, scroll wheel rolls freely. Press again, it rolls with clicks / steps / ratchets like most mice. Nothing whatsoever to do with toggling power on/off. 2:) You do not need to turn these things on and off with the physical switches each day. It makes negligible (if any) difference to the battery life. These things put themselves into a sleep mode extremely quickly (within seconds). That M705 mouse is sold separately as a 'Marathon Mouse' advertised to last 3 years on a set of batteries and after using it intensively for two years, virtually never using the on/off swtich, and measuring battery voltage left, I absolutely believe their three year claim. The mouse can run on a single AA down to 0.95Volts which is very impressive (the three year claim will be with 2xAA - the battery compartment is setup so the cells are in parallel instead of the usual serial connections - that means you can run either a single OR dual AA batteries which is not unheard of, but quite rare - handy if you prefer more or less weight). You save nothing and only risk wearing out the switch doing that. For me the real purpose of the on/off switches is if you want to turn the keyboard off for wiping down / cleaning without having random commands and characters sent to your screen. The mouse, I guess I might switch it off if I was throwing it in a bag to transport somewhere. But certainly not as an every day action. (also, your music is not so bad watching at regular speed, but sped up as I do for most youtube videos - it becomes highly distracting and I couldn't concentrate on what you were saying. I want KZitemrs to understand the music adds nothing and only distracts from your message)

Thank you so much! I'd accidentally hit the power button and turned it off, and your video showed me where the power button was so that I could turn it on again!

Actually, the batteries really do last a very very long time. I bought my MK710 keyboard/mouse combo in October of 2012, now, Feb 2018, Keyboard still indicates 100% on both the LCD indicator and the logitech tray tool. Mouse is now down to about 30%. This is with moderate use, but, with the switches turned on since 2012. This means the sleep function of both keyboard and mouse are very good.

Well, thank you "Avg Guy," for spending the time and showing us this kybd & mouse set. As it turns out, I already HAVE this combo, but most of what you've shown us is the same as I did as well, but I wanted to add somethings. So it seems you're quite happy with it, and I agree in general, but there are some "issues" I thought I should point out. The first "gotcha" is that it's a Logitech. Over the years I've had perhaps 15 or 20 Logitech products and one that stands out is that Logitech seems clear on the tradeoffs they make, and essentially, Logitech has chosen "neat features" rather than quality. As I've said, I've had a LOT of their products and eventually mine have ALL failed for one reason or another. Where mine tended to fail were clearly due to random mechanical failures. Once though, I did knock over a beer and despite that it didn't "seem" wet, and I tried to wipe it clean, but nope, it was dead, and I was the one who killed it; can't blame Logitech on that one. (Whew! I should've "confessed" that LONG ago because it feels like a ROCK was lifted off my chest. Where's Tony Robbins when you need him? I need to tell him about my new-found freedom! ...) Ok, now that THAT'S done, the HW problems I've had tend to start slowly, and then after some time goes by they get more common and then sort of "settles" and become rather useless and have to buy a new one. Heck, the REASON I even found your post is because my "old" MK710 keyboard just decided to ignore the "f-key" completely. Have you ever tried to write something and one or more keys are playing "Hit or Miss?" It ain't much fun. So I'll first clean it a bit more, but I'd be surprised if it works. And it seems that Logitech is doing some changes now. And my guess is they're trying to consolidate the products. And THAT was a pain because it doesn't seem to "ix" problems with their SW. It "pretty much" seems to work ok, but it now seems to have become bloated, and it's not clear as to what their plans are. And since I've been using them Well, thank you "Avg Guy," for spending the time and showing us this kybd & mouse set. And last, they made what seems to be "newer" dongle and I've had problems that I traced down that seemed the old and new dongles weren't working very well together. So, that's longer than I planned, and I'm pretty certain I missed something. So if I'm wrong I'd be interested in hearing about it. And despite the "bad things" I wrote about, but I think I'll be ordering a new Logitech kybd. In the end, and with it's limitations I still like their products.

I inherited a MK700 at work in 2015. I use it about 3 days a week and never turn it off. I have never changed the batteries. When the battery indicator goes down to no bars I switch the batteries from one side to another...did that Monday and now I'm back to 2 bars. Is this thing immortal?

I have the exact same setup. I am installing a new mouse since the one you are reviewing no longer works. So I bought a new Logiteck mouse (M510). It only works when I install it's related USB chip, but I pulled the old chip and now the keyboard doesn't work. Can someone help me get them both to work together, the old keyboard and the new mouse?

I appreciate that video on the Logitech mk710, but I need help with my brand new Logiteck keyboard mk735 model. Other than the battery strength, I don't know what the notifications in the LCD screen mean. Also the volume doesn't work for me. The only instruction sheet in the box was a quick set up guide to pair it. That worked fine. I just plugged in the usb and the querty keyboard and number pad worked. However, I would definitely have appreciated an equal sign key in the number pad. I think it's stupid to move my hand to querty section while entering numeric needs. This is key for those who may not be ace typists. The keyboard legs are comfortable and surprisingly stable standing right on top a gel pad on my laptop keyboard. The keys are awesome as well as the hand rest. I was going to buy it for $54.99 online at Costco, but paused and drove to the warehouse to find it there for $44.95!...Score! Can't beat Costco!

I always get lag and missed inputs with bluetooth keyboards. I prefer the 2.4Ghz dongle for K&M inputs. I managed to pick one up for 20 bucks on ebay in late 2021. Worth evey penny if you want something nice but dont wanna break the bank.

Bought one of these keyboard/mouse combo in Aug 2018. Today the keyboard no longer works. Changing batteries does nothing,in fact there is no battery strength display,or anything in the display for that matter. The M705 mouse still works fine so I know the unifying plug in is still working. Taking the batteries out and letting it set does nothing. It's like it totally died. Pretty damn short lifespan.

Thanks for the info AVERAGETECHGUY. I did not know the MK 710 had an ON -OFFswitch The AI bot could not even help me find it, somehow it managed to get slid to off position and thought my newly acquired 5-day old keyboard had taken an eternal dirt nap. Like I said dumb _ss LogiclessTech bot could not guide me thru a simple question. It came refurbished without a owners manual. When I took it out the box the Keyboard power button must have been on since I just put the batteries in it and it synchronized itself along with the mouse that I did switch on. Will take the issue with Amazon it was supposed to be an MK735. 4:37 AM EDST no customer service at Logitech till the morning. Monday - Friday: 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (PT)

Office gave is this setup when we moved home. The mouse is literally the worst I've ever used. I legit threw it away. Not even worth using in a pinch. The wheel is literally useless. The keyboard is tolerable but the design with the mandatory (and completely useless) wrist pad is very uncomfortable to use so you need an additional pad meaning your keyboard will be at least 8 inches from the edge of your desk which means you will be reaching and hunching over 8 hours a day no matter how you sit. Don't know where he's coming from with these kinds words. I got these for free. Paid nothing and I would still say both the mouse and the keyboard are the worst I've ever used.

The keys are cheap, very close to each other and very plasticy. Not very ergonomic .. stop lying! The WAVE keyboard is a very ergonomic and contour to ur hand fingers. Its an old model but there's a reason why Logitech keeps making & selling them! Unlike the 750 model the WAVE 550 has no shiny shit hence no nasty finger prints all over the housing base!
