Wild life parks of Pakistan | Rawalpindi Parks.
In close vicinities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, there are areas full of forests, rivers, waterfalls in short full of nature. Lohi Bher is the one covered with green forests alongside #Korangriver and back in 1992, provincial govt announced a wildlife park in the area that initially covered hundreds of acres land with a safari of multiple species of animals and birds.
With fast spreading population around Rawalpindi, the park has suffered the presence of humans due to cutting of forests and development of Bahria and Korang towns in the proximities of Lohi Bher. Wildlife park is still there but the area underwent a shrinkage. There are enclosures of lions, deer, birds and monkeys. I was literally delighted to see numerous species of birds including peafowls, cranes, pheasants and many more.
The park seems like a forgotten one and needs immediate attention of the authorities to turn it into a good picnic spot after a little development of roads and refreshment points.
