The drivers must of had excellent knowledge on all the roads etc back in those days too know where to go without sat navs or looking at maps.

I'm not sure but I believe back then the drivers had to do a similar test to the London Taxi Knowledge test whereby they had to memorise all the streets in their ground and any that they know of in neighbouring grounds

Does somebody know where to get the old LFB shout bell tune from 0:04? I would love to have it as an alarm on my phone.

What was the reason for filming this, given it was a rare thing back in 1992?

When the late 90s Mercedes trucks get retired from service... it will be an end of a fun era for the LFB, the end of a iconic siren.

@@paulsimpson6899 well, that's how Whelen is, The louder... The Better. And it's slightly lower toned American/Canadian one is very popular in the Czech Republic, Poland and all of the Scandinavian countries (Except Sweden, who only has a few Ambulances with that yelp)

One Dennis appliance (one in the video) and the newer Dodge G13 appliances got the sirens and strobe lights fitted in 1987 for test runs & rest of the Brigade started getting them around 1992 onward when the Volvos were being introduced the rest of the old Dennis’ retained their two tone horns

Don't know, but they were way after my local brigade, Staffordshire. They first had electronic sirens fitted on all their appliances in 1980, and they kept their two-tone air, and later chose bullhorn air horns too.
