Timelapse sequence shot across London between December 2011 - March 2012.
I wanted this video to capture just how vibrant London can be after dark. For anyone who has been to this city, hopefully you will see some sights in a new light, and for anyone who is yet to visit- this what you are missing.
This is my first attempt at putting together a reel. Up until December 2011 I didn't own a DSLR, and thought an F-stop was something to do with trains... Hopefully you can see the progression from an amateur with no clue about how to put together a picture, into an amateur with slightly more of an idea of how to put together a picture. Every sequence was shot to JPEG as I can't justify the cost of Lightroom or another piece of software to process the images. It does show on some of the shots, but it also meant I made more effort to get things right first time.
Music used- In the House / In a Heartbeat by John Murphy (from the 28 Days Later soundtrack).
Shot with the following gear:
Canon 400d w. Standard 18mm-55mm kit lens
Canon Powershot S5 (used for the traffic light shot- before I got my DSLR and before they took them down :( )
Tripod
Gorillapod
Home-made hood for window shots
Intervalometer
Patience
Thanks go to the following:
Paramount @ Centre Point for giving me a couple of hours to shoot from their viewing gallery (and do a bit of celeb spotting)
Phil Edmonds (the busker) for one of the best moments of shooting I saw (and some great music)
The guards at Canary Wharf, who let me know what it feels like to be a master criminal
Anyone who spent a few hours standing in the cold with me, sharing a beer and some chat
