Hence why I find it hard to listen to other old school UK hip hop artists like Hijak and that. Their American sounding accents are so forced and awkward. I definitely rate Black Twang but not as highly as London Posse. Black Twang was a level below them, more comparable, skill-wise, with Gunshot, Jehst, Lewis Parker and so on. To me London Posse was above them all. And I mean the best London Posse tracks were better than the best tracks the others made. But they all had great skills.

If you search old school UK hip hop mixes you should find some, I'm not good with the names I just grew up around a lot of the people of that era. @@danastraughter958 Not really. The beats changed slightly with the times, but this was more an extension of the material from the Gangster Chronicle album which stretches from 86 or so. And this lot dabbled a bit - if you look at releases like Style and Jump Around. It was original at the time in the UK, which had a weird scene - there were people making a few pop chart sell-out tunes with Yankee accents pushed by major labels, and then a lot of local very good and innovative material that was getting ignored. It took a long time to break the walls of the industry down in the UK; far longer than in the US.

The fact of the matter is that these guys are unfortunately forgotten, and in all honesty UK rap wasnt that big in 90's. the uk grime, garage, hip hop and jungle scene, especially Jungle stemmed from reggae, dub, acid house, techno, hardcore and more. jckyng Exactly! i've heard of london posse before but honestly this is the first time i've listened to one of their tracks...the only good thing i personally have to say is that i'm glad that they didn't rap in fake american accents...but the negatives for me is that even though they didn't do that, their persona still felt american, like fake american...they didn't offer anything unique, imo. I was 3 at the time when this came out but had i been a teenager at the time i definitely would not have had this in my music collection, I would have rather listened to something american because to me this sounds like an attempt to be american so whats the point in having the fake when you can listen to the real. This is why my music listening is more formed around the garage/grime sides of music because i relate better to it culturally and I don't want american music i want home grown london british music...if that makes sense? this is what we in the garage world wanted to get away from...it's corny
