Maybe fiund a little hotel half way and split the journey (Stoke is probably about half way), it's an easy enough run but it gets pretty boring once youre south of the Lake District 👍

I’m hoping to get my first EV and looking at long rage models but the public charging for road trips do worry me a bit. I’m trying to find the facts amongst all the bullshitters and agenda peddlers but seems hard to get a good idea. Unfortunately no Teslas are available for me (looking at ionic5 or ex30 probably) so will be without the incredible supercharger network. Can you offer some of your unique brand of no nonsense honesty on this? Would love to see a video like this in a none Tesla car with a 260-300 mile range battery.
@DefinitelyNotAGuru

I did a long one a ross Europe in an IONIQ 6 and only used IONity too. Ultimately I bought a Tesla as I wanted the supercharger network but in most parts of the country by the motorways etc the public charging is vastly improved. I’ve had my car since the start of sept and have used a public charger twice as majority of the time you just home charge as its costs almost nowt on an overnight scheme. Remember that your bladder range is likely nothing like the range of car and that’s a way bigger factor than you think. Feel free to book a call if you want a chat.

As a Tesla Model Y Owner I can confirm that the Tesla supercharger network is great - I charge at home for 5p/Kwh so that's a massive bonus, the car does about 4 miles on 1 Kwh. My maths might be slightly out but thats over 550 MPG at present day petrol prices, the car its self is amazing but after having German cars for over 20 years I can see the difference in build quality but is not bad at all. Liked your honest review of the car and as I live in the North I loved to hear your thoughts on the area, Tebay is my favourite service station in the whole country and anyone passing should stop in and have a look.😀

I've only had 2 Tesla's (both Press Cars) but the build qualkity has been superb on both. I know there are consistency issues and have certainly seen some poor examples but I try to take as I find and both have been great for me. Tebay is amazing!

Keith, two guys drove a Mk1 Nissan Leaf from John O Groats to Lands End - and back again - in 2016. They covered the 1653 miles in 48 hours. I agree but I don't have an endless pot of money to make these videos; I'd love to do this in future on a european trip but would need a generous sponsor. (FYI this video has thus far made £17 and cost several hundred to make even with free use of the Tesla chargers).
@mikeg9674

Another interesting video - you just need to book better weather next time! The ability to use their own dedicated charging network is a definite Tesla advantage- I can't really understand why they are going to share their charging network as this dilutes their USP as many other premium brands are catching up on range. As others have said, in the sub £35K/£250 per month sector where many motorists including myself reside, I remain unconvinced by current EV offerings and prefer the latest non plug in hybrids which allow some pure EV range for city streets and more economical fuel consumption on a longer journey. Keep up the videos - all really interesting.

Great video. Loved the presentation, very well paced, and the 16 mins flew by. The 2 big improvements that will help push EVs to the masses will be cheaper cars and denser batteries that will allow longer journeys, both of which are coming from China.

Great video, good quality and good editing. The Tesla will be about £60k so too much for me and I've regularly done 600 miles in a diesel Mondeo in one day which cost me £1000 to purchase secondhand. 300 mile range is about where it needs to be but EVs have got to be nearer to £20k or sub-£200 PCP, though I think MG might get it there. If I get an EV now, I'll be paying 32p/kWh for home charging and saving over ICE fuel isn't much if any so staying with ICE is better for most for now. I know a couple of Audi e-tron GT owners and they bought them for the tax advantages but aren't impressed with the range at barely 200 miles.
