Love this . Thanks for the videos providing great ways to get to France. Remember going via Eurostar to Paris then TGV to South a France and now you can take Eurostar all way to Lille. Oh the sign of times

That journey looks great! And thanks for all the info in the description. It's way faster and cheaper than I'd have expected - so useful to know. Can't wait to travel to southern France by train myself one day 🤞🤞

New subscriber, loving the videos and jealous of the fact you can do this far easier than those of us in the north. Far easie for us to fly than the time and cost of getting to London.

Beautiful video and informative too. I wish to go to Menton, France by train but I am not sure. At the moment I will fly from London to Nice and then take train to Menton. Can you please suggest by train to Nice from London. If it works out cheap of course I will go by train. Sarah you are probably the best person on train travels. Best wishes from Leicester England

Will you be doing any travels further afield without flying? I'd love to explore some of the non flying long haul options. Thank you for another excellent trip report.

Thank you! So I had been planning on going to Japan this autumn via the trans-Siberian express but given what’s going on right now I don’t think that’s possible. I have been thinking of going back to turkey though at some point and documenting that.

I was looking at Eurostar to Avignon this summer and it’s £220 each person 😢 £440 for us as a couple …. flights to Marseille are £60 return each 😓 so unfair!! Train travel just needs to be more accessible and affordable!

Ah that is really frustrating! Agree it really needs to be more affordable. If only the government would give tax breaks to train companies rather than airlines 😩

I think booking separately is the key to lower prices eg paris to Avignon £30 booking away from Eurostar (we prefer to drive as we take our Labrador)

Do you think this is doable with a 4 year old?
@sarahb.m.5730

My brother just did a similar trip down to even further than this with his 4 year and 1 year old and said it was fine. I know in some cases families prefer it because they can walk around the train and no one is glued to their seats like a car or plane. The only thing I would be aware of is train strikes in France. These can be a real nightmare even without children so check before you travel. Also the changeover in Paris between the stations. When it’s really busy in Paris that could be a lot with a little one so maybe try to travel when it’s not rush hour.
