The rumbling rolling sound of your fat tires (polite rock garden, best description ever) together with the xylophone track...Bliss. I needed this tonight. Thank you Sire.

Hahahaha!! 😘 That was pretty good dude. Your BV intro rip off was funny and I laughed pretty hard at your shots at me. Bumpy ass trail happens when you power through a snow storm to get it done lol! That frickin stem looked so ridiculous, it was hard for me to even look past it haha 🍆. With that being said I think it’s fair to say this might be your best video 🤙🏻

Hahahaha. The stem looks pretty preposterous but a friend gave it to me along with the handlebars which stand as the only carbon fiber components I own, plus they are red, white and black so they suited the Red Sled just fine. First time I ever dropped a chain with the fat bike was on this trail, but I think the bumpiness was exacerbated by my Bluto fork seemingly giving me 30 out of the usual 100 mm of travel. Gonna get that looked at. And yeah man, I remember hearing construction announced and completed faster than I’ve ever seen so completely makes sense. Once this gets smoothed out people are gonna scream through here. On the real though, quit leaving equipment out on the trail. Totally uncalled for. On a personal level I feel like my Giants Ridge vid is the best I’ve made. Hope all is well with you my dude and you’re working at bringing joy to folks in Iowa. Lord knows they could use some excitement down there. Peace.

@@ElTerrible2011 lol that’s the city’s crap equipment! I still haven’t even ridden any of it so I’m glad to hear you think it’ll be fast and fun once things settle in. As for Iowa I wish I was there, the rest of the crew is there but the day I was going to head down there I got sick and tested positive for covid! So I’ve been in quarantine, bored as hell. Only one more day though! Also covid sucks and I’d advise to avoid it if possible.

@@ridindirt Damn man. Glad to hear only one day remains so you got through it. I’ve only heard reports but all accounts are unanimous that it sucks terribly. Know a young, healthy and hardworking dude that was floored by it and met a guy who was asymptotic and unknowingly spread it to his mom and dad. The dad didn’t make it RIP 😞. I’m definitely trying to dodge it if I can. On a lighter note I believe you should have immunity for a while at least, right? Or is the jury still out on that?

@@ElTerrible2011 I do enjoy that intro song. It's in KZitem Studio so you can get the actual song if you want. So, it's a funny thing reviewing a brand new trail. I remember riding Lake Rebecca the very first week it was open. It was possibly the worst ride I've ever been on. Super slow and soft dirt with no features and what felt like a ton of climbing. I came back a year later and cut 20 minutes off my time on Strava. The trail firmed up and the got faster. They added a couple things to the side and in general it was a much better trail. I didn't like Sunfish because it felt like a Cuyuna flow trail in the metro. Super paved and wide AF. I didn't crap on the trail in my video because I had a conversion with some folks and tempered my expectations. Monarch is exactly what the Three Rivers folks wanted, an Elm Creek style trail in the SW corridor. Is it in my top five? Nope but people love that stuff. It felt a lot more ready for primetime but still it will get faster as more people ride it in. Double black roll? Yeah, ok. I got some perspective on the amount of work people put in to get a trail built and the work it takes to maintain those trails. I try to remain positive about the new trails. If it actually pretty good, you'll see about five fives a year from me at that location. If it sucks, you'll never see me ride it again.

5 miles of pure hell 😵💫jajaja! That’s exactly what it feels like. 1st trail I rode this year and the pump section was brutal. I also realized I was running my tires on winter psi. Will have to hit it again before the season is over.

It’s smoothed out a bit now but I feel like that first 2 miles or so if you start from the parking lot in the pickleball court is where it is choppiest. Ridin’ Dirt mentioned they got hit with a snow storm during the build which tore up the trail a bit and caused all the bumps. After riding the SplitRock Wilds though I feel like this is a paved trail by comparison 😅

Enjoyed the video. How do the trails in your area handle rain? It looks like all that dirt could take awhile to dry up after rain.
@ElTerrible2011
3 жыл бұрын
The lower 2/3rds of the state are pretty rock-free so you’re right, after a heavy bout of rain the trails will be closed the next day. Not the case in the Iron Range or parts of Duluth necessarily. For whatever reason though I feel like getting rained out isn’t a huge deal. Other times they may open the gates later when things are tacky. They also do a great job grooming the snow on the Singletrack for fat biking as well here.

@@ElTerrible2011 You've got a fat bike, XC trails, and nods to other MN KZitemrs . . . all I needed was a dad in spandex telling me to slow down because his kids are up ahead to complete the experience haha! @@KeanuSwayze Funny you say that. Actually saw a dad in spandex reprimanding his son “KEEP YOUR FEET ON(or in?) THE PEDALS” going into a berm while setting up one of my third person shots. Those spandies take it pretty seriously sometimes (not all). But the ones that look at their starva times with a stern or angry face as soon as they cross the “finish line”? For sure. To each their own though, we can hate all we want. Deep down inside we know the spandy is a specimen that’s more fit than us.

Hey man you are riding some weird nonsense bike with a male appendage for a stem...stop it! Also I hope you copy my intro too! Ridin' Dirt is the worst trail builder EVER! hahahaha JK buddy! Damn. How did I never connect the dots with the WOOOO!!!!!s and my guy The Nature Boy Ric Flair. Wasn’t born here but was raised here and is an honorary, and highly respected, legend around these parts. I got to hear those WOOOO!!!!!!s, and chest chops!, in person as a young buck. You make your own music right? What’s your bandcamp, if you got one? I’ll make a clownin intro. Truthfully I like some metal too (all kinds of genres really) but my riding ability doesn’t justify putting it in a video. Wish I could send some 30’ drops like your boy (without eating it of course) to some Oranssi Pazuzu, old Strapping Young Lad or Immolation or something.
