this brings back early 80's radio pop. ABBA vibes. who wouldn't like this? Good times..

I don't really like this myself, way too poppy for me personally. But I do think a lot of people will love this. I am still curious about the band even though I am starting to get the feeling most of what they produce is not going to be for me and that's ok. Melodic power metal usually isn't really for me either, so yeah. I still wish them all the best though and I genuinely believe they will keep growing steadily. There are lot of people who love melodic power metal (there are plenty of examples in the Japanese scene) and the fact that you compare this song to radio pop and ABBA shows that there will be plenty of people who will love this style as well.

I just realized the guitar solo has the same tone and feel as Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter's work with a Donna Summer circa "Bad Girls/Hot Stuff". Very cool.

Yes, this has a real disco feel ... and when it's done so fine, I have no objection at all! You need a very good and tight bassist and drummer to bring on the magic for this kind of groove. Narumi said it's her favorite track on the album! Pretty irresistible.

this band may turn out to be like LOVEBITES in the respect that every song sounds different. and of course with mao and asami involved that makes it even more so. the song 'total eclipse' is a real banger as opposed to the dance groove in this song. i love variety. and this band also. narumi has a nice solo here

@@GlassMoonGaming Narumi is an ex-Destrose member with Haruna and Miho. As you can see, she is an outstanding musician. She then was in Disqualia.

Someone mentioned in one of reaction video (can't remember which song) mentioned that Yuuki Hirose, the bassist has more followers (can't even remember which platform they mentioned) than Lovebites. I got curious about that and looked her up. Most mention of her is made about her being a voice actress or a member of Queen of Purple. But the vast majority of her entertainment career is being an OG member of idol group AOP (and she was still in it when they finally broke up). She definitely has vocal ability, so I'm guessing that Lonesome_Blue might be taking a K-pop tactic and putting the spotlight on the band's English speaker.

Very cool song. This was probably the softest song of the EP but still very cool and I enjoyed the kinda retro feel it has. Beginning Of The End and Total Eclipse are my other favorites from this EP. Each song has it's own special feel and style

That's funny, I have listened to this song a lot today, so catchy! And here you are with a reaction video 😁 "Welcome to Heavenly Secret Base" feels like a pop song disguised in a metal/rock song. And everything is catchy: the intro, the main riff, the verses, the chorus (of course!), the breakdown. I usually don't like much when it's all catchy because you get bored when you listen to the song too often but it's not the case with this one. Very interesting direction choice from the band/producer. And you can recognize Mao's songwriting. He always had catchy melodies with his synth compositions. Thank you GMG

Love this song too. Progressive hard rock mixed with ABBA-esque vocals over a disco beat might seem odd on paper, but works extremely well. One of my two favorite songs of the year, along with "Spoopy" by Trident.

Party Metal. You should check out Cyntia, or their vocalist Saki, sometime, they have a similar vibe. I really like this, it’s just good music. The best track on the EP, IMO, is Labyrinth - no MV though.

Not sure you saw the history of Narumi I posted earlier, but I'm a big fan so here it is again: Narumi Suzuki (known professionally as “Narumi”) is one of Japan's elite guitarists. She was Destrose’ co-lead during that band’s most successful phase, along with Destrose bandleader Minako Nakamura (“Captain Mina”); other bandmates included Miho and Haruna, who went on to found Lovebites, and Marina Hebishii, who founded Mardelas. After leaving Destrose, Narumi co-founded Disqualia with Ibuki. Her co-lead in that band was a very young Hazuki, who is now one of the two lead guitarists in Nemophila. After Disqualia disbanded, Narumi focused on a solo career, which yielded a phenomenal solo EP, “The Seed”, featuring highly technical prog and fusion-style instrumentals. It is worthy of comparisons to some of the great fusion albums of the late 1970’s. Here is the lead track, “Red Rabbit”: kzitem.info/news/bejne/xIivqZV-o6l6mqA Narumi also filled in for Toki during Toki’s first maternity leave from Aldious, and was with them for their only North American live appearance to date, an exhibition at NAMM. Narumi has long had a devoted fan following who wanted to see her lead her own band. Their wishes were answered in early 2022, with the debut of her new prog-metal band called Lonesome Blue. Drummer Mizuki (x Shinku-Horou), vocalist Maiko Nomura (a voice actress singing under her own name for the first time) and bassist Yuuki Hirose complete the lineup. Lonesome_Blue's debut EP “First Utterance” contains five tracks co-composed by Light Bringer keyboardist Mao, with lyrics written by Lovebites frontwoman Asami (another instance of the close and symbiotic relationship among many of Japan’s female metal stars). The song “Parallel World” features a spectacular appearance by Morfonica violinist Ayasa. “Labyrinth” kzitem.info/news/bejne/rmmMmYx_omOUa6w “Parallel World” kzitem.info/news/bejne/15yKl4iDcaRiaXo “The Beginning of the End” kzitem.info/news/bejne/mJWjx4iNrmmKlqw

@@GlassMoonGaming You are most welcome. I realize on re-reading it that no one is going to retain all those names etc. just from one read. The real message is the intricate web of relationships in the J-metal scene. I hope you get a chance to react to Narumi's "Red Rabbit" clip. It's a startling change of pace.
