What is it like traveling on a long distance train in Argentina? Last month, I travelled from Constitución station (Buenos Aires) to Tornquist (last station before Bahía Blanca, on the Constitución - Bahía Blanca line) on Trenes Argentinos and, in this video, I'll show how the trip went.
The ticket from Constitución to Bahía Blanca (to this video's date) was ARS 665 (USD 18) but, buying the ticket online you usually get a 30% discount.
The trip in 600 kilometers long and it takes almost 12 hours in order to get to Tornquist. The train is slow but comfortable. It has a dining-car, bathrooms, luggage storage, and it's actually really silent.
Train has stops in other towns like Monte, Las Flores, Azul, Olavarría, Lamadrid, Coronel Suárez, Pigüé, Saavedra, and Tornquist before getting to Bahía Blanca.
The trains are identical to the ones used to travel from Buenos Aires to other destinations like Mar del Plata, Córdoba, Rosario, and Tucumán.
