They need to think of a better way to make it more efficient. Safety is important but so is getting an education. In high school we had metal detectors for like 2 weeks because of a rumor that someone from another school was going to go around shooting students. Note no shooting at that high school has ever happened to date. With the security I would end up missing half of first period and my high school has a small population compare to other schools like my graduating class was of 111 students. Like I’m not against it but think of a way to make it more effective.

I went to school in the late 90’s. When a major incident occurred, clear/mesh see thru backpack were implemented. But since enough students DIDNT COMPLY, then the use of bags were forbidden during the school day. We had to carry it all and make frequent trips to our locker. Since it was prior to the smart device era..I used to play games on my gameboy color when appropriate.🤷♂️ Then Columbine happened and a bunch of fools around the city would make prank phone calls from the pay phones at the school and ruin the school day with the staff implementing safety measures and the police doing their investigations at various schools….then all the pay phones were removed. If you needed to make a call home, had to use the front office phone with permission.

Do adjustments need to be made? Sure. Was this inconvenient? Absolutely. But as a public high school teacher with my own children in a public school, this is not too much. If the unthinkable happens and these measures aren't in place, then the loudest voices will be asking why something wasn't done beforehand. I love teaching (in year 19), but I have a family to go home to and all of my students deserve to feel safe at school and return home to their families as well.

And yes I know what people will say about privacy and plastic backpacks. Cry me a river. All that is supposed to be in the bag is school supplies and a laptop which can be hidden in a laptop sleeve and for girl a small bag for their period things. That's all I've ever had in mine and even in hs my mother checked my bag randomly to ensure that was what was leaving. I used a plastic backpack for a semester while in a college in the US for a sememster course. My only issue was the 2 huge textbooks that would not fit in ANY bag, considerung they were each like 30lbs. But fortunately we were given both the pdf and the print book so I took the pdf and used the print at home.

I just hope no strangers underlying medical conditions had any medical episodes due to this to cause standing in a long line in heat like that because farther mom, sure it can get hot. Even now I’m sure it could exacerbate restaurant underlying medical conditions in certain people goodness for bid a student was asthmatic and the humidity got to them where the student had other medical conditions that make it so they can’t stand in long lines, so long periods of time like just because there’s a high school students does it mean that all of them can actually physically send a long line for long crazy time what do they do about any particular potential students who have medical conditions or diagnosis of certain types and make it so they just can’t send a long lines for extended period of time. I got like students who have individualized education plan is also known as IEP‘s as well services for one thing is, is it gonna make those kids in the song wants to or they gonna be able to as part of the plans get a cut to the front past excessive they are students who because of the disabilities can’t stand those long lines. Did they ever consider that and I just did a high school but for the younger kids to, just come in from the point of somebody who lives in a non-stay until I had a really robot that that level of humidity and has asthma and severe joint pain, causing then not be able to stand for a significant amount of time in whose autism and ADHD makes it, so they also can’t stand it and want ones for extended periods of time so I’m coming from multiple angles in an outside point of view like from outside the state logo scooter sick but inside the mind of people who might have to run to my have disabilities like asthma or autism neurodivergent C or joint issues or other physical disabilities that make it so they can’t stand an alarm for long his time with it before physical neurological or whatever actual physical best medical diagnoses best reasons are they those students gonna have to do the same thing that they’re fully able-bodied Neurotypical classmates that’s the part I want to know and like I said, I’m not even from that county or town. I’m not even from Florida. I’m from New England so I’m up north here. Yeah I’m still on the East Coast mama. No then I still wonder. And I went to school where there was a note to check the way I had to go to class, and there was only one only thing is across the school was the size of one hallway, and it contained 10 maybe 12 classrooms max and like no more than 10 students per each classroom some supposed to use on the ones for the younger kids only had five in them I see is red I’ve never saw classes of 10 usually they didn’t go above eight students in a particular class and like Davis 12 costumes ranging between kindergarten in 12th grade, nonetheless with a metal tactor and wanting him back surgeries, and all of that it was an alternative school behavior, children size ones with autism in order for didn’t see combined and they still handle it better than the school did with this
