Isopropyl Alcohol allows you to easily remove hot glue. It doesn't melt or dissolve the glue but somehow gets in underneath the hot glues contact area and allows you to just pull the glue off (Usually in one single piece).

another tip for cutting foam is to use a pencil soldering iron. Try it on a styro cup and notice you never need to touch the foam. It also seals the foam and double stiky tape like this way.

I am personally new to long range and to FPV and very interested in setting one up like the one you did but have no experience do you have any other links you can suggest for their setup if you cannot make one yourself? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Yeah this one is everything the S800 wants to be. People are wishing the S800 was detachable wings so they are doing it but not without crazy mods. Servos in the center of the wing is really smart. Plus its wide width wing make it easier to fly and it flys way slower than the S800 on landings. Glides amazing.

You should make a video showing how to setup something like this using inav and all the quirks you ran into during the build process. Id like a wing but dont know anything about servos, inav, or GPS. This setup is what I have been looking for, almost. I would like to adapt the setup so that video and control signals are sent through the cell phone network rather than direct communication with a base station. I saw a KZitem video of a guy in Hawaii who did this with a Parrot and used it to fly between different islands. Do you know what equipment is necessary so that the cell phone network can be used for communications in this manner?

Thanks for the information due to cost I am still finding the limits of 2.4ghz they make so many antennas for wifi frequency. However there are some places that are like the Bermuda triangle for wifi even out over nothing but trees. When I switch to UHF some day I would definitely revisit the Bermuda triangle locations and see if I still have to hit GPS RTH.
@dronecamps

UHF seems to be the most reliable signal for my experiences with the EXUHF module from Immersion RC. The range is great, but it is more expensive than the Dragon link. I have read that the EZUhf can do better in more urban environments VS the Dragon link. Wifi has never been super reliable for me. As far as video signals go 1.3 has been my solid choice. 2.4 setups are smaller and sexy, but less signal quality than 1.3

That looked like an amazing trip to Oregon. The scenery was amazing! I've also heard a lot of good things about that wing and I hope to get one eventually. I am "somewhat" new to the Crossfire and I'd like to ask you something. I have the full Crossfire tx (it just made sense to buy the full Crossfire) and I have a micro rx on my fpv wing. I've never had an issue with signal but Ive also not been out "real far." I was told to have the micro rx antenna wires going straight up and down, so I do have the black antenna wire coming straight down from my wing, while the other wire goes straight up. Yours is set at a 90 degree. Is there any particular reason why you did that? Is one method better than the other?

So my ques is, do you have a vid or is it possible to start from nothing, buy everything needed to get flying an fpv quad for around 500.00 or less ? with good clear/real looking picture/goggles ? I guess in like 1mi. or so radius ? I guess the easiest way to say is, can i get a good/real resolution picture thrill of flying & recording for under 500.00 ? if not how far over 500 would it be ? these vids are great help at trying to get up to speed. i just dont want to get 1500.00 deep in this. For some reason wings always seem to wobble on the yaw axis. I'm always looking for one that tracks smoothly but never see one.
@dronecamps
6 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of reasons for that. I’m a huge hater of yaw axis wobble. Horizons Manta has huge wobble. Part of the problem is the wing tips swept to far back. This causes a lateral imbalance at low speeds and wobble. Usually I have the best luck with a more forward wing tip profile wings. Vertical stabilizers help ton to keep the wing on track.

I'm blown away buy the sheer quality of this wing no words... I'm praying for a t Crossfire we speak and if I dont happen to get blessed like crazy blessed I'll be using the crossfire sooner or later I WILL get mine, lol ty for the info and also the orbit it my FAVORITE wing atm... I have the dart otw 2 I loved it just as much and get 45 mins flight time plus with a set of goggle batteries ive seen people getting almost a hour on the dart.... crazy so being new to wings I LOVE this line and sonic modell more than I can say..n wish I had an idea which wing would be best suited for my first wing setup with iNav and each FC to use. I've got a Paris serious hero or mini pix hack arkbirdtiny Ect what I wouldn't give to spend a day with u! And I have my AR 600 otw, also! Stoked n half done with a mini Skywalker and a Skywalker 1900 done I even a tint wiener lol been waiting to say that... 4real tho I need more than KZitem lol damn... ty for the vid I also it's not just u I ALSO HAVE CRAZY love for this wing. I've rebuild it 15 times no joke, NP... mostly all c.a lil hot glue.. And my tip if you cut a tiny slit in the tips of the control surfaces add a tiny bit of ca, whipe it down, and use baking soda its acts as a instant catalyst and if u let it sink in you can keep it soft where u want and harden tips, that's my input, and I use a separate bec with 2 outputs, 5v 3amp one for a system and.one for a mini fridge. Jk but I get rock solid signal for ever on5.8 I love it love it and have a new dart otw and hope to be rocking long range like yours asap..you rock @JustinDavis ty soo much for all you help! Ps I have two arkbird tinys have u ever used them?
