Neat little fact about the glass clinking/touching/whatever: this tradition came about from a time where regicide/etc from poisoned drinks was very commonplace, at a toast everyone would clink their glasses/cups/etc together in order to have the drinks splash into each others glasses/cups so that if one was poisoned, it would then be splashed into all the other drinks (including that of the poisoner, or at least the orchestrator of the poisoning even if they did not commit the act themselves, who would almost certainly be present in order to avoid arousing suspicion)

2 family events within a year. Same sibling. Daughter got married for the second time. After dinner the couple started this very long awards ceremony after all the toasts. This was a 3 day event full of games which we only participated in wedding and reception. We wanted to get out of there right after the dinner but got trapped for the awards ceremony. Second event was a wedding anniversary party where before we could get in line for the food one of us per table had to answer a trivia question about the couple of honor. We dont need to earn our dinner by team building for our table. Tone it down…

I was conservative in my late 20s, and over time, I guess I lost my mind and became a centrist, then finally a full-fledged liberal. I constantly watch your show and love it. Today's show got me wondering. Did FOX start out "Fair and Balanced " or were they always shit. I used to watch them and wonder now if they evolved into the "Get off my lawn" people as time went on. It's back to the grandstanding. The more you're trying to make that as your social media face, the more of a farce and image you want others to see. If you read the Greek Mythology story of Narcissus, he is wanted by many suitors but rejects the., and it's actually his IMAGE in a pool of water that he falls in love with. He doesn't realize that it is him. The same thing is happening with social media making narcissism explode. People are obsessed with the image they're putting out. It's not actually themselves.

@@Free.zen. That's a myth, it 'assumes" that first responders won't do their job and need to be told. I guarantee you a first responder is going to thoroughly search the vehicle and make sure no one else was in the car regardless of what might be printed on a bumper sticker or window sign. The most common justification is to warn other drivers to use caution, and no one is going to change their driving behavior over a sign in the car any more than they do when they see a school bus. Bottom line, people just like to announce to the world they have a baby. now they have social media for announcing to the world everything going on in their life.

Instead of turning the volume up and down, dealing with commercials, I would always mute the TV when it went to commercial break and then turn the volume back on when the show came on. I asked him if he had a smartphone. He said yes and went back to his car to get it. I proceeded to show him how to use Google maps. When we first moved to my hometown, some old timer gave my mom directions to a place by telling her to turn left at the old Sears building. How does that help newcomers? We don’t know which building was Sears before the mall was built.

Apparently the baby on board shit is for first responders, not other drivers, so ems/fire know to look in the back first in an emergency

You know those Baby On Board stickers aren't really about bragging you successfully dropped a crotch goblin at all? I mean, yeah they’re a great way of telling other drivers that you’re going to be driving like a fucking idiot because you’re distracted with their howling, but they’re there for a practical purpose too. They tell the first responders that they should be looking for a teeny tiny corpse as well as yours when they find your compact compacted between two semis. Yep. Apparently overlooking and not recovering dead/injured babies was such a ‘thing’ that someone had to invent the Baby on Board sticker just to make sure the scene got looked at properly before everyone went home for the day.
