For most of the movie my eyes were scanning the entire screen. I was looking at and through doorways, windows, hallways, etc. More than a couple of times I was focusing on the back of or an adjacent room. The suspense was constant and paced really well. I felt genuinely uncomfortable even during simple conversations. This was great at making me overthink things and keep me invested in the story.

Fun fact: when Longlegs begins to sing happy birthday at the end of the movie, the theater lights were programed to come on by itself, possibly to represent birthday candles. What’s more crazier is that, coming from a theater employee, we didn’t even know that was the case until me and a coworker talked to some of the guests and saw it for ourselves later.

I’ve had to watch reactions to make sense of the ending. I think that Lee Harker is now taking the role of Longlegs. There is some supernatural aspect that is causing her to be “stuck.” She doesn’t go to try and stop her boss from killing his wife I think because she’s “stuck.” And her gun is apparently not out of bullets when she tries to shoot the doll, but misfired multiple times. All of this is apparently some kind of meddling from the devil. There’s some sense that Lee Harker will be basically forced(?) to take the role of Longlegs and/or her mother now that they’re both dead

This might be a reach, and I haven't seen anyone say this before, but after the FBI watch Longlegs' interview where he sings Happy Birthday to Harper for 24 minutes, they pause the tape with his teeth showing and then Carter sits down in front of the TV, and for a small second his head is exactly within his mouth as if Longlegs is biting into his head; 'You've got the teeth of the Hydra upon you.' Possibly hinting at the coming end of Carter. Like I said, probably a reach.

Honestly I dont think that’s a huge reach, in movies like this where it’s all about little clues and signs and symbols and things in the background I bet they thought of every little detail in each scene so to me it’s totally plausible that that’s intentional

Okay, but why does Roxy's outfit slay so hard today? lol I need it to wear too XD Besides this film my favorite Maika Monroe film is It Follows! Yes, that was Kiernan Shipka (the actress from Sabrina) and she did her scene in one-take. Also, for this film specifically, and what annoys me to no end! Is that a lot of 'critic's' were doing to ridiculous thing of calling this film "the scariest of the year." Because of this a lot of people went into it excepting it to be a fast-paced, horror with jumpscares and whatnot. When it should have been marketed as being creepy, unsettling, or disturbing in nature. I also just saw people complaining that the police were incompetent because they could solve the ciphers for 30 years until the 'plot-device psychic plant came on to the case.' I reminded them, since apparently, they weren't paying attention, that they never got letters to correspond with each symbol until Long Legs literally left Lee with some of the letters in the card he left in her house.
