Mary Atkinson travelling by car to the Lake District our National Park. A local area of Derwentwater a very tourist location, appreciating the landscapes and scenery with ifs mirror reflections. A summer day out with picnics and parks, travelling to Crummock Water and along to Buttermere with ifs famous Herdwick sheep and stone walling. Our next stop was at Hardknott Pass and seeing the burnt-out shell of ifs popular stop the cafe which was renown for motor bikes and other tourist looking at the views across the valley. Then we traveled East to Lanercost Old Bridge that had an extensive refurbishment in 1998 funded by the Heritage Lottery. Finishing our day out we traveled to Green head, Northumberland to visit the local church where an exhibition was taking place displaying local crafts and ending with a scarecrow festival. A good sunny day out with friends.
