This oneshot is just awesome. Fujimoto managed to tell the story of his life through those two girls and even make a tribute for the KyoAni incident. It would be damn poetic if that animation studio adapts it into anime.

@@boxtoprock8020 I think it would still be possible to make it a movie, especially since the author likes long quiet moments for a characters to reflect on themselves. Which could lead to beautiful segments of music and animation, especially in that huge manga spread with the rain.

@@whoplays7061 a movie is typically an hour to an hour and a half while a short is 20-40 minutes, I think that stretching out the silence would kind of ruin the story and the feeling of the piece as well as would bore audiences as just watching characters sit around and think or sob in a pose wouldn't be that visually intriguing

Just the more personal imo. Like the last comment, you can't truly use the word "best". To me...this one was the most impactful since I questioned myself the reason I was painting, the reason I was putting effort on a manga, etc. Chainsaw man made me realised what relationships meant to me, and fire punch teach me life in general. Thank you for focusing on the 'good'. This story is gorgeous and up there with my favourite *anything* out of manga/anime...but people focus too much on the sadness of this (& similar) stories. Tragedy is sometimes beautiful ,but NOT simply because it's tragic. When grieving, it's always important to occasionally just..."Look Back" at the 'good' ♥

The first time i knew this oneshot is when I saw the review of a channel specializing in anime.
