The most pleasing thing for me has been the form of Romain Mundle. I have to admit I thought he wasn't anywhere like the same level as Clarke, although still with potential but very raw. I know it's only 9 games and as with any young player there will be dips in form, but the biggest compliment I can pay is that we haven't missed Jack Clarke who was our best player by a country mile last season. With a fully fit squad we can stay around the top end no doubt about it. Hopefully Le Bris will manage workloads sensibly.

That's the best thing for me. As I said in the video, we're not reliant on any one player now or if we are we disguise it very well. With Clarke's departure to Ipswich, we've been forced to have a better and more sustainable game plan than 'just give it to Clarke'. We now attack & defend as a team.

Obviously it's been a very good start, to be top of the table going into 2 international breaks is really good and a massive positive, I want to try and stay in that top 2 as long as possible but the main thing is as long as we are at the very minium in the top 6 come may then I'll be happy, in terms of our performances and results I'll split into 2 stages, first 4 games I was very surprised with our start in terms of winning our first 4 games and looking really good in terms of the performance levels, with the first 4 games I would've give it a 9 or a 10/10, however the last 5 games and this is where my only concerns come into it moving forward is the results and especially the performances have not been as strong as they were in the first 4 games, our high press for a large part of the 90 minutes seems to have gone in the last 5 games and we seem to be sitting back to much, obviously we've had Boro and Leeds during that period so the tactics for those games I can accept, at home against a team like Derby was a little bit to negative for my liking, yes we won the game without getting out of 3rd gear and we could've been saving ourselves more for that Leeds game but I don't want this to become a regular thing where we sit back in nearly every game, like I said against the stronger sides I understand it but against sides that haven't got a chance of top 6 we should be going for it straight from the get go, I do like Le Bris, he's done very well so far for a unknown that hadn't managed outside of France and us being his 2nd Job in management, he talks well and he gets the players up for every game and I would say regardless of performances the effort is there in every game however and I have mentioned this a few times and it was the Leeds game that really pissed me off the most is Le Bris needs to start rotating his squad more, if he doesn't like to change much in terms of a starting 11 fair enough but at the very least he needs to use his subs better cos on average this season he's made 3 subs out of 5 available, against Leeds he only made 2 and left 2 strikers on the bench and the timing of them is ridiculous as well, it's always 70+ minutes before he makes a change, before any says he wants the man out already, of course not, like I said I like the bloke, he's a very good manager and we've got a really good chance of doing something this season especially when we get everyone fit but going forward he just needs to use his squad better that's all, if he does this then I have no doubt we'll get top 6 minimum, maybe better who knows, as I said before first 4 games 9 or 10/10, last 5 games I would say 7/10 in terms of results and performances, 9 games in overall I'll give our start a 8/10

Everyone saying we'll fall away (maybe we will) but maybe we'll cut out the silly mistakes, improve our concentration, get players fit and improve. Until we "fall away" I'm going to keep believing we can compete for automatics. Yeah I know it's easy to slip into doom and gloom the first time we see "the signs" of our season "falling apart" but we have to be positive and create an atmosphere of positivity for the players and Regis.

If Ipswich can finish second last season, then in a weaker league this season, Sunderland can get automatics. It's a long season and there's still a massive question mark over how consistent we will be. But I've seen nothing from the Championship this season to suggest we can't at a minimum finish play-offs.

I am sorry to hope that Dan Niel is capable now to be the squad manager for matches. A couple of seasons may do that but he would have to prove it. He has much to learn as a squad manager, has to agree at least a two contract from now. He also needs to behave himself during a match with the Referee be right or wrong.

We probably should be undefeated this season , but I feel Boro and Derby could have ended differently too. We’ve done really well, but the jury is out still . 4 of our next 5 games are away and I’d be amazed if we are in the top 2 after that . I just feel we will have too many away days like Watford and Plymouth where it’s 50/50, but maintain our home form and we will probably be top 6 rather than top 2
