Hi , i was thinking of a way for you to get the feeling of how a house is built . They sell small wood kits that have all the parts cut out and you glue the parts together and build a model house . You would be able to hold the parts in your hand , this would be a small model , but it would let you feel the house coming together. They make kits of log cabins and small houses for train sets of all different sizes . Mike

Great video! Alot of people especially young people out there looking for work in the trades, have to understand that as an introductory level employee, you are just a laborer/helper. Nothing more nothing less. You get hired, great! But now it's on you to prove to these guys and gals that you are worth having around. Work your ass off. Be observant! If the person you are under looks like they might need something, go and get it with out question! Weather they end up needing it or not is not the point. It shows that you give a shit for one. And two it shows that you pay attention and are actually there to learn and want to commit your self to that such craft! I am an 02 journeyman electrician and I can say from experience, that not all that get hired or fancy them selfs an apprentice to your craft actually understand the commitment or devotion your craft depends on or looks for. If you show up and give nothing but attitude or exude nothing but contempt for constructive criticism, you do not belong there period.. go work for mc Donald's

@@jimmyjanicki6459 Funny story but it was a bust. The guy wasn't as good as he said. He had a small team of 3 people which got things done but he was a terrible boss and I mean horrible. One person straight up left because he was treating her like she was stupid for not being able to physically do something because she was too short. He told everyone she was quarantined and she left with her boyfriend who was another person working with us. I know that because she told me after she decided to come back and I told her what he said. My boss was basically a good construction worker that had anger issues. I tried my best to do shit but he never even taught me anything and I was cleaning the site which was only a few nails and some wood from time to time. He'd get up in my face about me not being busy all the time when his other workers who he put in charge of me didn't even know anything I could do. I wasn't shown my job and whenever I was shown something it was always a made into big deal and I could never ask questions if I had any. Later we demoed the walls in a house for remodeling. It was a real old house with dusty black insulation. I was cleaning the whole thing but they didn't have a ventilator for anyone so I was sick for a month. The stuff was up to my knees and during that job we also got refused to order materials from a place because my boss went off on the delivery person. Also it was normal to have your pay threatened and at some points he'd send everybody home if someone makes a bad enough mistake which could been anything. Happened 2 times in a month. It sucks that it didn't work out but I'm glad I am out of that situation. His workers are probably about to leave him soon

I did not hear anything about the 30 hour OSHA , being discontinued, or replaced. A lot of time and energy went into making the 30 hour OSHA card , what your friend might be talking about is NYC and some States will be adding 10 more hours of safety training on top of the 30 OSHA , so everyone will soon need 40 hours of training , before they can walk onto a construction site. First thing , have you 30 hour , look for a job and then go with the flow . Mike Espo . NYC is still busy and will be for the next 10 years .

You can start out as a laborer and move on up from that spot . If you can , go and get your 4 hour flagging card , companies always need men to flag in the street . It is a easy card to get , and not a big cost . Good luck , Mike

Some company's might ask for your school background , and some don't . Most construction company's just want to see how you work in the first 2 or 3 weeks . If you work hard and always keep busy , you will always have a job . No smoking or drinking or drugs while on site , show up on time , and show that you can get along with other workers for a 10 hour day . If you can do that , then you will never be out of work . Thanks for watching , Mike Espo..

Hi , It is a good time to be a helper , see if you like learning about electricity or electric parts or motors . To be a electrician is a great job , it is a great job later on in life , you can work for a company and do side work . The work is clean and no heavy lifting . If your a good electrician you can make a lot of money ! A LOT . I really recommend it , i know a lot of guys who went into that field and all do very well. Do not work in the concrete field , i did it my whole life , and it kills your back and knees . Good Luck >>> Mike Espo..
