THANK YOU! Just unstuck one of my schools marching baritones with this technique! Saved me a big headache and about $80 at the shop!

Oh my lord. This helped me so much! My valves were completely frozen and I have concerts coming up, so no time for a repair rep. The wooden block I found worked GREAT as a buffer for the hammer. Thank you again!

Thank you so much! I may be ordering tools in the near future. My child is going into her second year of trumpet. Last year we had to send her horn out for repairs and it came back with all 3 bottom valve caps frozen! When we tried to send it back for them to fix their issue, they called me with a ridiculous quote to fix a problem that wasn't there before we sent it out! I wish we had more than one music center in a 45 mile radius!

I'm so sorry you had that experience with the repair shop. It's quite a challenge sometimes as there is not enough good work being done in many locales. I'm glad this video was helpful. Please extend my wishes to your child for continued musical success and great fun playing the trumpet.

Thank you so much! I haven't played my Tuba since March and my 3rd valve was super stuck. I used a small heater and the handle of a hair brush and it worked!

invest in a good dent hammer.

Good tools make a difference. A typical dent hammer would not be the best choice in this instance as we want the tool to "grip" the part rather than "slip". A proper dent hammer will have a highly polished face (in my view). Cheers!

I enjoyed your video. They now have special pliers for that (for us repairmen). Either way works!
