I heard a motivational public speaker in a speech say once "Everyone on this planet has a talent at genius level; the trick is finding what that talent is." Some people find it very quickly at an early age like musicians, sports or in maths for example, others maybe later on in life discover it like entrepreneurs. Some unfortunately never really find it and just drift through life while all that time there was probably some gift undiscovered and undeveloped in them ending up living a life of regret going to their grave with their music still in them. How tragic that must be. I think its imperative we all strive to find that talent whatever it might be we all have and develop it and work hard at it and take pride in the fact we did the best we could with the tools we were given. No one could ask more of you than that because you gave it everything you had and more.....

1:09:10 onwards, i'd love to hear his reply on what he thought about how people only want a phone for phoning and texting, and here we are with smartphones that do so much more now.

The knack is to surround yourself with good clever people. Has anyone ever bought an Amstrad product? Friend had the video phone, but never worked. Also being a team player, nonsense, always express your ideas at first with plenty of colleagues around, make sure you get the credit. The boss is often the pusher, not necessarily the problem solver.

If Alan was a pop star, he'd have a few hit singles, one good album and that's it. He couldn't make his products "sexy" or desirable like Apple or be smart enough create a following (brand loyalty/cult of Apple). Phones are like fridge freezers to him!

Balls he's surprisingly old-fashioned. When WWII ended people developed a me first attitude and products/services were sold because they should be desired not needed, 20 pairs of shoes

... I think he's a hardware man. Not a software guy. Phones are software - just look at how fast Android caught IOS. Was it also hard to see in 2006 just where wireless technology was heading? It was only after G3 came along when you got decent download rates, and now heading to G4 - which seems so very rapid.

@FatFriendly1 lol, that's what i thought of some of his designs. but hey, that was back in the 1980's, look at Apple's first products. They had the design of a hobo box.

SEE PRINCIPAL: We think, say, express, state, & report what We see (or what others have seen). But what We sees is determined by the way We see. It is impossible 2 C without a framework 4 perception. Apprentice is framework 4 us 2 perceive Entrepreneurial Myth which is not there. Since introduction of Apprentice & Dragon’s Den the Economy in the UK got worse with no +Ve Impact

@FatFriendly1 interesting, did not know that. though, in another interview he talks about how "easy" it was to build. he says people seem to have this "mystic" about computers, but all it was, was a motherboard, chip, and some other things; and that's it. but he also admits that his brain has been wired in a way to allow him to do what he did. so not sure, you think it's possible for anyone smart enough to achieve what he did?
