I made this deck originally a few months after C18 came out. It's morphed over time from a landfall deck to a land destruction deck and when Korvold was released he replaced Windgrace and land destruction turned more so into land sacrificing. Super grindy and fun. My advice to anyone building Windgrace (or Korvold) would be graveyard interactions. Dredge is amazing for this specifically Life From the Loam, and then Crucible of Worlds/Ramunap Excavator.

This is amazing series tbh, now I don't agree with all the options in fact it's roughly around 80% but the guts are always great and the options are also very noteworthy. Some cards that I think you do choose are based off personal taste but I get that and I have my own. Thanks again! Keep up the good work!

Great suggestion about the "ramp dorks"! Another change that I would make is swapping out Decimate for a Nature's Claim or some other cheap removal spell. The problem with Decimate is that you need exactly 4 targets to cast it, so if for example there is no enchantment on the board it is a dead card. Also it's sorcery speed and it costs 4 mana. Something cheaper and more efficient that can get rid of a problem permanent will be much better!

Love this build. I have a Winidgrace deck and honestly never thought of some of these cards. Mine as a landfall sub theme. I went a crazy make your lands creatures idea and a really nasty land wipe/recure my lands faster idea. Recently added Orcish Lumberjack. A windgrace must!!! had him out on turn 2!

I chose to build Windgrace without any artifacts for flavor. Alongside the land synergies there's lots of artifact removal and big stompy creatures. Comes to about $112 love that you use Archidekt, it's my personal fave.

I used to have a windgrace deck which didnt have a lot of the cards you removed precisely because of budget. The only cut i dont really agree with is nesting dragon. That thing is a huge powerhouse when it comes to protecting windgrace and board presence. There were even times when i blowed pernicious deed so i could get a bunch of dragons and kill someone. It almost made me happy to get boardwiped.

Admitedly it comes with the precon, and I'm not sure at the time of this comment, plus that precon is hard to get now. But nesting dragon is like a $20 card, compared to other landfall triggers like omnath, ob nixilis, titania. The cost to power ratio of that card doesn't seem to match what this video is going for, especially if it's cutting Azusa at only $7.50. That said, I 100% agree it's definitely a good card to have, having your opponents have to think about whether they want to board wipe or not for fear of hatching all your eggs alone is worth it, but I got the card with the precon so I'm not feeling the price tag.

Windgrace has to be one of my favorite commander decks and the stuff it can do feels so powerful in a drastically different way then any other commander. I will definitely be adding the snow basics to help with field of the dead synergy, great idea. I also fully agree with your take on Evolution Sage...card is absolutely bonkers in the deck. The hardest part for me when building the deck is finding a true win condition. The value it can generate is insane and because that value engine comes via our lands coming in and out of the grave, its relatively difficult to interact with. Still, relying on big X spells or creature combat to close out the game feels difficult at times depending on the table.

I couldn’t agree more about the inclusion of Evolution Sage, put it in my deck immediately and the synergy is insane. I also run cards like Storm Cauldron to slow down blue players and speed up our landfall shenanigans. Also a great card I don’t see played enough in Lord Windgrace decks and decklists that I have in mine is Creeping Renaissance. Subbed and definitely going to start making deck tech content myself here soon.

I like to play Omnath/Rage with a basic land focus, things like Cultivate, and Explosive Vegetation and such. No need for extra land drop card like Azusa, just play more Instant and Sorcery's. The point is to get more lands into play and use Omnath's ability. With a lot of cards that draw you cards like Elemental Bond and Garruk's Packleader, with about 2 sacrifice outlets with Goblin Bombardment and Altar of Dimentia (I love decking people in a agro deck)

Windgrace was my first and is still my favorite Commander. I play a more creature heavy variant where I focus on recurring my board after a wipe more so than protecting it. I use cards like Loaming Shaman to selectively recycle the graveyard. It wins by trampling with tokens. Sidebar: I'm surprised you mentioned Urborg without mentioning that Dyrad of the Illysan Grove can give the same effect and a much lower price.

Evolution sage is so great in this deck. As a person who loves removal, that card easily gets lord windgrace up to its ult, and I've actually used his ult a few times before because of the proliferate triggers. It's a pretty good include

It's not quite a landfall card, but I like dragon master outcast in my Gruul landfall deck. As soon as you have 6 lands, this guy pumps out a 5/5 flyer every turn. For one red mana, that's pretty fun! Abundance also lets you filter draws to pick up lands and non lands, so you get what you need each turn

Landfall on a budget = Tatyova. I've built budget tatyova, non-budget Tatyova, Gitrog Monster, Angry Omnath, and even Thrasios/Vial Smasher landfall that combined all of the above, but to this day, budget Tatyova has been the most fun, and it feels great to blow away far more expensive decks through the sheer card advantage. It's the deck I like to loan out when someone needs a fun deck to play, and I've even had people build their own version after borrowing mine. So good.

Storm Cauldron with any landfall ability on the board, and a bunch of stuff that lets you play extra lands is super gross. Plus, it slows down your opponents without actually destroying their lands. I'm also surprised that you're not running Abundance, the ability to draw cards with Windgrace and get lands when you need them, or spells when you don't is so incredibly valuable. One of my favorite plays in my own Windgrace deck was right after a board wipe that hit everything with power 5 or less, and tapping out all of my mana, and setting 3 red mana aside. Then I cast Rain of Filth, sac'd all of my lands for black mana, then cast Animist's Awakening where X was something like 18. Got a total of 11 lands (I got some fetches, which padded the total), tapped another 2 mana, and cast Cavalier of Flame. My two remaining opponents scooped up once they realized that I had something like 96 power with haste and trample on the board.

I still dont'know what to do with my copy of Lord Windgrace. I got The Gitrog Monster as well and that is going in it. But I simply don't know if i go for landfall, pure value, jund good stuff with some big beaters in it. I do have a landfall deck with Phyleth at the helm, so i have a lot of staples for a landfall deck already as well as a Korlash Swamp deck. Maybe i can just mix em up together? XD

Need for Speed is a great haste enabler that should see more play. Currently only 1.51% of Lord Windgrace decks run it. It's both a sac outlet for your lands, that work well with any other Jund sac payoffs that you might have in the deck, e.g. Mazirek or Korvold, but also The Gitrog Monster or Titania. It's also useful for when you want to recur lands for landfall value along with the other land recursion cards. Giving your huge Multani haste or any other big beater you make with all of that mana you'll be flooded with, can be fantastic.

a win condition i love in this sort of deck is world shaper/splendid reclamation + obliterate. for the low, low price of 12 mana (not actually that bad in a windgrace deck) and 2 cards, you make it so your opponents have nothing, while you keep your lands and windgrace. it's basically impossible to come back from.

No one says you can't. I run a mostly mono black Sol'kanar, despite the commander being Grixis. The philosophy behind Commander is to have fun with the format. If, for you and others, making the perfect proportion of colors to showcase the theme of your commander/deck is your version of fun then that's perfectly fine :)

I'm 5 minutes in and you've gutted the core of the deck. You should have no more than 10-12 basics. Get rid of the basic land search. This land base is awful. Bounce lands are bad, especially since you cut your additional land drops.
