If you get Link's green tunic and talk to Condé while wearing it, you learn that Condé was stolen away at some point, and that Link was the one that saved him 💚 This is what Condé tells you: "Zelda, the clothes you're wearing... It just occurred to me that the Tris are the mechanism by which the Triforce works at all. The Triforce seems to be a conduit through which one can command the Tris into creation from pure will and imagination. This has to be the ultimate goal of Null. In order to prevent creation, they must control it and ultimately destroy its controller, the Triforce. This is ALSO why in Link Between Worlds why Lorule's world decayed after the destruction of ITS Triforce. Assuming its world was created in a mirrored situation with a mirrored Null, the world is being consumed when the lock to Null's cage was destroyed and the method of creation itself was obliterated by itself.

the negative triforce being null , it's so good to see fan theory come back in a form, wether the dev knew about it or not, but i really life the symbolism it gives to the triforce itself, you made me realise the 3 triangle are encircling the void , like they do with the created world. so good. I think echoes of wisdom established new lore that makes the lore even more interesting, i hope they use this in future games too (as in that this stick as lore stuff and doesnt get forgotten)

Whether or not this is a reference to Skyward Sword, one thing is clear: the Kingdom of Hyrule hasn’t forgotten the events that followed Hylia’s battle against the OG demon King and his demon tribe, and Denise’s defeat by a hero chosen by the Goddess reincarnated as the first Zelda.

Just finished the main story yesterday, i loved this game one of my favourite top down Zeldas for sure. Great analysis of the awsome story, i was genuinely surprised at how engaged in this plot I became. The characters were all great and made me feel for there plight. The amount of new lore was awsome too, playing as Zelda and getting to interact with the golden goddesses for the first time and a great new antagonist in the form of the eldritch abomination that is Null. It is now my personal head canon that Lorule's slow disintegration in Link between worlds was caused by that universes version of Null slowly breaking free due to the destruction of Lorule's Triforce/Prime energy.

I hadn’t noticed how the Tris were apart of Nulls body that way when you’re exploring! And super interested in the question of whether Null always had a body or if the body was created after consuming Tris.. This made me realize how much mirroring there is between Null’s design inside his body and the Tris. Particularly the double helix DNA design. The staff that Tri gives Zelda is also a double helix, but shaped into a staff harkening to perhaps DNA as the blueprints of creation, which Zelda collects and then creates through the power of a rod embodying DNA blueprints. But why would Null, the antithesis of creation and matter, be filled with DNA.. unless the body came from consuming Tris who create matter! This also made me wonder about what Null was if not a body, and what it was that we fought and destroyed.. and how. If the game implies that power of all the Tris commanded by the power of the prime energy are able to defeat Null, I wonder why the goddesses wouldn’t have been able to do that at the beginning of time? Why is it possible now? Perhaps because Null didn’t have a body to be destroyed when the goddesses trapped him. Just a force, an opposite entity to what they were. But in their foresight, maybe they knew to defeat Null, that Null would have to be tricked into wanting to consume the Tris, become embodied, and seek out the power of the Triforce in order to be possible to destroy. While the Tris mend the rifts, they’re also enraging and baiting Null into consuming them. Therefore, while it seemed like Null was 2 steps ahead of the heroes, the goddesses were 10 steps ahead of Null - using his greed against him to trick him into becoming material- the opposite of his nature, in order to ultimately destroy him.

Adding Null as the negative space between the Triforce Pieces, and an opposite force to The Three Goddesses, is honestly a very nice balancing piece to the Hyrule Mythology. Because now The Three are Creation/Existence as opposed to Good/Light. Light and Dark, Good and Evil, these are represented by Hylia and Demise. And because both of them stem from Creation (Hylia was made and put in charge, while Demise simply formed and emerged), they both utilize the powers behind the Tri-Force. The Tri-Force doesn't care about Good and Evil, just that things exist. To the Tri-Force, Ganon's Dark World is just as valid as Peaceful Hyrule.

I would argue EoW is child timeline and that we witness the precursor events of Twilight Princess, that of the Interlopers attempting to steal the Triforce for themselves and the Goddesses punishing them by sealing them away; the still realm becomes the twilight realm. The stolen children, never returned, become the Twili, who rarely speak; and the power and ability of Null become fused into one powerful object, the Fused Shadow.

@@ArceusDXThe map's the same, but by itself that doesn't mean they're the same timeline since a map can persist across different timelines. Similarly, the case could be made with the character models that one timeline can look the same as another. The issue I see with slotting EoW into the downfall timeline is, where exactly? Canonically, Awakening comes after ALTTP, and depending on who you ask the Oracle games go after those. And Link speaks in both of those. So I understand the merit of placing EoW in downfall on the face of things, but it's actually much more of a mess once you dive into the problems it creates.

Theory, what if the destruction of Lorule's Triforce allowed some of Null's influence to reach out? The way Lorule crumbled was likely due to Null, and Echoes of Wisdom heavily inplies that it takes place many ages after ALBW, with even Ganon and the word Triforce being forgotten. So, what if the Tris were made AFTER ALBW, as an attempt to contain Null now that his influence is leaking out through Rifts. It allows the absence of rifts in other games, with the possible exception of ALBW's fissures, to make sense.

Short possible correction about the Ganon in the Beginning: Tri confirmed in the Second Ganon Encounter at 35:59 that "this Ganon is not the same as the one Link defeated" because this Ganon we see here was an Echo - which mostlikely would mean the Ganon in the Beginning was the real one - though considering he was just a brainless Boar in that state (because of a failed Ritual of Reviving him in the Oracle Games) it wouldnt suprise me if Null managed to mind-control him. Afterall the same Mindless Ganon was controlled by Yuga who is technically far beneath Null - nothing but a Mortal Mage with a love for art. It would make sense that Ganon was the most important catalysator in the terror Null causes - through Ganon's Power and his Authority over every Demon, Null was basically capable of doing a lot more Extra Theory: The reason Null could trap the Goddesses who defeated him before could have many reasons at once. Back when they sealed Null, they had the Golden Power of the Triforce which they couldnt fully use because they are Gods in their biological nature and thus are unable to be fully Omnipotent, yet Omnipotent Enough to contain the nothingness

Not story related, but the only thing that REALLY bugged me in this game was right at the end, after you save Link. Why does he need to nod at us and run further into the room every 5 seconds? there are a few minor points i am not sure i fully agree with, but the point i am going to directly contest is the idea might crystals come from the power of null, which is why they are the only thing capable of damaging that which null copies. I cant fully disprove it, but i have a different idea of what exactly might crystals are. In the void null lives in, life always tried to exist, but was always snuffed out before it could compete... that is until the creation trio stepped in to challenge Null. How did they beat null? not by directly battling it, but instead by accelerating the growth of those sparks of creation to create a cage of reality. Null continued to fight against reality, but it was no longer the biggest fish in the pond and its efforts were constantly undermined by the tris acting to repair anything null consumed. Might crystals are a result of those attempts to mend that which was destroyed, left behind in reality where the void no longer exists. That sounds to me more like those sparks of life and reality that naturally form in the void taking on a crystallized form in the reality where they can thrive. They are the thing that can combat null not because they are a part of null, but instead because they are the representation of every one of null's failures. Reality as created by the goddesses is in itself incomplete, maybe even an echo of the power these might crystals represent, while might crystals are reality in its purest form. The reality created by the goddesses is not exclusively a cage, but also an incubator for these might crystals. Heck, we can even extend the interpretation of both the goddesses' reality and the tris in relation to null as life and death/entropy, respectively. Reality is alive in much the same way as us humans are; we exist not in a static form, but one in a contant war between life and death. We get hurt, but our bodies heal ourselves over time. Tris are the blood and immune system of a living, dynamic reality, null is death and injury, and might crystals are scabs, bruises, and calluses; the result of a living reality trying to heal itself and become resistant to further harm. We get 5 might crystals for mending large rifts, and from what i can recall, we never find wild singular clumps of might crystals underneath a rift we manually repair ourselves. Heck, look at the random might crystal that appears when we can finally return to the same underground river that we first escaped the castle from. First time through, no crystal, but a growing rift. We return to find no rift, but a crystal in pretty much the exact spot the rift grew from. For reality, growing tougher at the site of injury to prevent further injury means something different: it means producing a resource that can directly fight back against that which first consumed it, while zelda and link are the "white blood cells" that fight the "infection" of null. Then, simply because it is pretty easy to explain why zelda and link are special in the context of rifts: hylia didnt reincarnate into the FIRST zelda, but ALL zeldas. You cant just erase or kill a mortal goddess, especially when each dies by natural means instead of the result of the curse winning, her blessings instead extend throughout the "zelda" "bloodline" in direct opposition of demise's curse. Link on the other hand has the blessings of the triforce of courage and the master sword, both mythical entities in their own right, though much less "conscious" than demise or hylia. Demise's curse is just as much a blessing, as it dictates that the destined hero has certain "perks" that look like "special-ness" from the outside. If a ganon exists, so to must a zelda and a link. If a zelda exists, so to must a ganon and a link. If a link exists, so to must a ganon and a zelda. We see that last example time and time again, but this is the first time we see the equation defined by zelda, not link. Zelda with the blessing of hylia means a link cursed by demise and an evil rising to challenge them both. Is null the evil in question? that is up for debate, but we know from the history between link and ganon alluded to in their first fight of the game that the curse is still in full effect, null just usurps the role by puppeteering ganon.

First I want say that i sorted the Game also at the end from triforce Heroes :D because null exist before ocarina of time means, that in the other two timelines null exists Here. Also with this information maybe WE can explain why at the time of breath of the wild are 2 ganondorfs. One as a Shadow from null und the other under the Castle at His prison. Also I See the force in the Sprit track as the lost piece at the triforce. But your explanation ist also really good :D

I disagree with the placement of EoW in the timeline at 5:56. After ALBW the Triforce was split into three (It's whole in EoW). After it was assembled again, the Golden Era began and the Triforce was in direct possession of the royal family, which is not what we see in EoW. In EoW it's buried underground behind a magic seal. It's possible that it's a retcon but it makes no sense as one. If the Triforce isn't in direct possession of the royal family during the Golden Era, then the events preceeding Zelda II regarding the Triforce of Courage being hidden that set up the whole conflict for that game have no reason to happen. I think it's more likely to happen long after Zelda II in this case. Plus, this way the comment about rifts appearing for so long actually makes more sense. Besides that, rest of the video is great is always!

It's a testament to the form of the core narrative and symbolism that you are able to draw the dispersed ventures together.

Just a random thought I want to throw out. What if Null looks like the tris because, like the tris themselves, it was created by the golden goddesses? I have nothing substantial to support that with, but since the goddesses created the world out of the void, it wouldn't astonish me to learn that they created this primordial entity as well. Something that, created by all three, ended up being more powerful than each individual and thus able to seal them away. It's a fledgeling theory, but perhaps food for thought.

Even after got swallowed into the rift, witneses the bizzare world, monsters roaming inside and lost his voice, Link is determined to save hyrule. What COURAGEUS boy he is!. WAIT. What if in every zelda game, Null the primodial being actually kidnap both Zelda and Link when they are still very young. But returned them to real world soon after he realize they havent got the triforce/prime energy yet. Both of em forget it happened because they still young, and only interpret that expereince as a bad dream. Thanks to goddess bloodine, zelda is fine. Meanwhile link in other hand got mute.
