I love her sweet voice. And how step by step she walked us through these. I like her technique. Surprised she didn't use anise, nor orange zest, but I'll try these. Beautiful that you shared your Mom's receipe and how dear you spoke of her. I miss my mother and I have MANY of her Authentic Mexican food receipes. I was very blessed.

Bake cookies at 350 for 20 minutes.

This recipe is missing anise. Without anise, they aren't biscochitos, simply a sugar cookie. Some recipes use anise extract and anise seeds.

I really enjoyed your recipe, and I enjoyed watching you and your family in the background. I laughed when you laughed. You were so cute. You have a great spirit about you. Your recipe is almost identical to my grandma Tita’s. She also did not use anise, and they are super delicious.

We tried making my "chaweta's" & Tia Cholé's recipe they used to melt the lard and incorporate the sugar, they used to grind cinnamon in a molcajete and add to the masa & add wine they made little balls and then with their thumb made an indentation. They were fabulous BUT I love your recipe my Chaweta is probably looking down on me from heaven with 300 degree heat vision.
